I’m making a home made Solban at the moment. Is there anything I can add to it to offset the drying effects of the 20% alcohol content? Would be perfect if I could add some kind of moisturising agent to balance it out. Thanks!
The alcohol is there for preservation. You could drop it and use a natural, Ecocert approved preservative instead. I use Geogard ECT, recommended usage rate is just 0.6%. Without the alcohol, Solban would be very moisturising, niacinamide is wonderful for skin care.

Found an interesting recipe for sunscreen from

Keith Littlewood

Ingredients are.

56 grams coconut oil.
56 grams of Shea butter.
28 grams beeswax.
24 milligrams of Progest E.
2 Tablespoons of zinc oxide powder.

Essentially melt the coconut oil, bees wax, and Shea. Mix in the powdered zinc and finally add the Progest e while it’s cooling and air in well. Transfer to a glass jar and you have an SPF of about 30.

Here's an image of the on his IG page of the ingredients used:

Looks very interesting I'd love to give it a try.
