Hey everyone,

I just wanted to get peoples thoughts about sunlight in the winter, im from northeast ohio and have noticed when i get an hour straight of midday sunshine(certainly not always available in the winter) i feel much better, mood is improved, feel like creating, amd listening to music. I was under the impression that sunlight is not as important compared to spring and summer sunshine when you can get vitamin d. I just wonder if the sunlight in the winter is stimulating my body to produce hormones that have a positive impact on my health and therefore its extremely important to get sunshine in the winter. Essentially what is winter sunshine doing to my body??

Darkness tends to get interpreted as a signal of low energy/hibernation, this appears to be highly conserved evolutionarily, from bacteria to plants and animals.

I think Peat says sun rays are the most important thing; hence the name RAY Peat.
