My father usually eats sunflower seeds from day to day. I learned that they are full of PUFA. I don’t know if I should do anything about this. He’s been regularly eating it since a long time, so I don’t think he will listen me unless there is a serious problem with these seeds.

The amount of sunflower oil in your average processed food item from the supermarket is probably more than the amount in the few seeds he eats in a day.
Evil is a strong word, more like not fit for human consumption. Other animals, like birds, could eat them with no problems. Seeds protect themselves by using enzymes that inhibit their digestion, that way you poop them back out and in theory they can still grow into a plant, and thanks for the extra fertilizer, lol.

How much do you think is in a supplement? I bought pomegranate extract for my heart, and ironically I just noticed it has sunflower seed oil in it.
