This is the principle (before reversion):

It's why somuch4food was trying to find the optimal range (for hydration) where the beverage is only slightly less concentrated in solutes than body fluids to encourage uptake. If the compounds happen to be absorbed without enough water following, they will require dilution to not be disruptive, leading to thirst.
- Water Malabsorption Syndrome?

Wow, this is really interesting, do you have any link to somuch4food's thread, or any link with more informations on this? What would be the optimal concentration of electrolytes in water, to promote optimal hydration?

When i have started peat and increase my salt en sugar in take (fruit, fruitjuice, sugar etc)
i notice my joint pain increased big time.
i wasn't aware about sugar and salt cause dehydration until begin this week.
i was reading this article and the next day i skip all sugar and salt.
The Effect of Salt & Sugar on Dehydrated Cells

the day after all my pain where disappeared completely and i was total pain free.
Then the next couple days i was experimenting with sugar and salt and every-time dehydration and joint pain returned.
Then drinking lots of water inhibit the pain a lot but also makes me a tired.

Now i am thinking, how do you peat fans deals with this.
I know ray advised consume a lot of sugar instead of starch and take lot of salt for the thyroid health.
also he advised not to drink water but sugar juices or milk instead.
i understand why but all this together is this the perfect recipe for dehydration.

How do you deal with that?

i do understand now why people with arthritis for example always advised to avoid sugar and high salt intake.
its a dehydration problem that's makes inflammatory worse.

i little update.
when i got low salt and low sugar )and high carbs from starch and low fat)
all joint pain dissapeard.

Then for a week i cut all of the starch and was drinking only low fat milk of mainly carb sourche.
No joint pain, no artritis, no problems.
week 1: Then cut all the milk and switch to high fruit intake as carb sourche.
Joint pain increase, also arthritis, kneeling was almost impossible (pain)
week 2: Then cut all the fruit and back to the skim milk as carb sourche.
pain was gone over one night sleep.
week 3:
Cut half of de milk out of my diet and introduce orange juice.
Joint pain increase, also arthritis, kneeling was almost impossible (pain) within 2 hours or so...
Week 4: cut out all the fruit juices again, and milk was again only carb sourche..pain dissapeard.
Week 5: reintroduce starch again with milk. no pains. no inflammatory.
Week 6, So probably fructose increase inflammatory... what about sucrose?
So i put some sucrose (table sugar) in to my diet.
hour later, everything was in pain.

Conclusion. Glucose and lactose seems not increase inflammatory.
Fructose from whole fruit & juices and sucrose does.

But why...

Look into oxalates your body could be converting fructose to oxalates.

How do you with glycine/gelatin and high dose ascorbic acid? They can also be converted to oxalates within the body.

Calcium helps excrete oxalates from the body.

Maybe the absolute amount of carbs are an issue for you? Too much?

What do you mean with 'could be' and 'can also be'
you say it in such way that it seems like this normally doesn't happen only in special occasions

Fructose, gelatine/glycine and ascorbic acid can all end up as oxalates, but it depends on your current nutrient status and metabolic state. B6 deficiency is one reason it could happen. There are different pathways in which these nutrients get metabolized and it could mean you end up with oxalates.

Any updates on your experience.
I’m gonna have to try cutting the juice and see what can happen.

Honestly I’ve been curious if it’s making me tired. All the juice that is.

fructose malabsorption maybe? causing bacterial fermentation and endotoxin, serotonin etc. or maybe it’s a liver issue
