You know, I'm just gonna say that the variations in what you're feeling are likely not 100% from the thiamine, or even 25% from the thiamine.

Even with the MB, it's probably only a minor impact. (The increased appetite is though.)

Good consistency with the log, though.

I forgot to mention at the beginning of my experiment.
I took Thiamine as Thiamine NO3 (nitrate)

Hi Dave,
I took MB already before I started with Thiamine. Only little or none improvement from MB alone with this dose.
But you are right, I distort the experiment. I cut out the Methylene Blue for the next days and see what's going on.
Thanks

9. Day 11.02.2016
1800mg B1 (Thiamine) in the morning before breakfast.
No Methylene Blue.

No big changes. Still like yesterday.

  • I have some red dots on my cheek. They are paler and it looks like the go away.
  • Maybe Methylene Blue improved my situation on some days? I had improvements on some days I took it.
  • Or I still not have the right dose for me yet?! I weigh over 80kg.

I read all the studies again.:books:
I found something in Dr. Costantini's study "Thiamine and Fatigue in Inflammatory Bowel Diseases: An Open-label Pilot Study"
Thiamine and fatigue in inflammatory bowel diseases: an open-label pilot study. - PubMed - NCBI

"For male patients, the doses need to be increased by onethird compared to females:
Patients weighing < 60 kg/14 mg/kg/day of thiamine
60–65 kg/18 mg/kg/day of thiamine
65–70 kg/23 mg/kg/day of thiamine
70–75 kg/30 mg/kg/day of thiamine
75–80 kg/35 mg/kg/day of thiamine"

For me: 80 * 35 = 2800mg Thiamine/day

My dose is 1800mg at the moment. I must probably wait a bit.;)

See you soon:)

I tried 600mg in one dose and all it did was make me very hypoglycemic. You'd probably have to be very careful with keeping your blood sugar up with a lot of carbs and consistent feedings. Otherwise you could just be making your symptoms worse

This has been my experience too Gl;tch.e...B1 and B3 will drop my blood sugar instantly, I'll become super hungry and fatigued if I don't eat enough. I make a homemade fresh squeezed ginger lemonade with honey and powdered B vits, taurine, theanine etc. sorta like my own version of a faux Red Bull drink. Yummy and energizing!!!

I also found MB to be very stimulating...could NOT tolerate taking any in the evening at all, else I'd have poor sleep.

I'm enjoying your experiment Mr Rossi:thumbsup:

I want to go to 80 * 35 = 2800mg Thiamine/day and see if I can fix some of my problems.

I will extend the test phase to 3 days on each dose instead 2 days.
If nothing improves, I go slowly back to 1200 mg.

12. Day 14.02.2016
2100mg B1 (Thiamine) in the morning after breakfast.
No Methylene Blue.
  • very stuffy nose
  • mild Tachycardia (90 - 100)
  • everything is very unstable
  • I woke up because of my stuffy nose and couldn't get back to sleep
  • nightmares
I think my current dose is too high.
"If the thiamine doses administered are excessive for the patient’s needs, this patient experiences tachycardia."
Thiamine and fatigue in inflammatory bowel diseases: an open-label pilot study. - PubMed - NCBI

On day 13 I go back to 1500mg for 3 days. Then 1200mg and maybe down to 900mg.

13. Day 15.02.2016
1500mg B1 (Thiamine) in the morning after breakfast.

No Methylene Blue. I took Magnesium Glycinate (leg pain) and Milk Thistle(liver labs).
High Cholesterol - High Triglycerides - High Liver Got/gpt - High Ldh - High Leukocytes | Ray Peat Forum
The labs has nothing to do with Vitamin B1. I started the experiment after the labs and without the supplements I took. Just as I write here.

I'm back to 1500mg for the next days. I look what happens and might go even back to 1200mg or 900mg. We'll see.

Breakfast was something like this: My Secret Coffee Smoothie Recipe for a Healthy Metabolism
Very delicious. But with cocoa and without eggs. I was the whole morning saturated.

Positives:
  • energy is better
  • little problems with MCS
  • only little nerve pain in the face
  • pulse is better
  • stuffy nose is better
  • sleep is better
Negatives:
  • after 16 o'clock I got very very very strong pain in my lower legs (bones, muscles)
I had this as a children very often. It is horrible.
Apart from the pain in my legs I feel better with the lower dose.:)

I have this since childhood too. Sometimes it's very bad, most times less so. Sometimes it's gone completely.:)

Red light to the shins gives me relieve for an hour or so. High magnesium intake and keeping inflammation down seem important for me to get rid of it.

Hi Giraffe,
then you know how I feel ;) You can not describe this pain. It is very awful!!!:banghead::banghead::banghead:
I had many years no problem with it. Since last year it is back and comes 1-4 times per month.
Mostly it is gone after night's sleep. So far I haven't found anything which helps in this acute situations.
Thanks for your tips. I will try this next time. :)

@Mr Rossi , I was reading a bit in a book on vitamins and so on. It says, "Overdose B1 causes B6 deficiency in rats, synergistic". Just wanted to mention it.
