Storing Aspirin & Expiration Date

Part of my doctors prescriptions is 2 x 81 mg (low dose) aspirins daily.

I normally purchase generic aspirin rather than what's prescribed as the cost is much higher for prescription aspirin.

I recently ran out of aspirin, instead of going to the local drug store I decided to look online instead.

After some searching came across larger bottles of 1000 tablets.

Low Dose EC Aspirin 81mg Enteric Coated Tablets with an expiration of 10/20, Time-Cap Labs Inc

I'm wondering since it a large single bottle if there's any particular method to store aspirin? Or does it matter how it's stored?

I would most likely open the large bottle and divide the aspirin into spare prescription bottles for storage.

I read somewhere you should store in a cool dry place or possibly refrigerate, as I don't have any storage that's both cool and dry.

I normally take 2 x 81 mg daily as per my doctors prescription. Which is 730 aspirin annually. So if I order two x 1000 count bottles should last me more than two years?

Or should I order only one bottle? I'm uncertain how much potency aspirin will lose after opening a bottle?

I think I remember Ray mentioned storing it in the freezer.

I ended up ordering 2 bottles which equals 2000 tablets enough for 1000 daily doses.

exp. date 10/20 from today is 879 days or 439.5 doses.

879 days = 2 years, 4 months, 25 days enough for 1 year, 2 months and 12.5 days.

I paid $21.96 for two bottles or approx. ~14.45 months of 81 mg aspirin.

Perhaps not the greatest deal as Equate 81 mg, 500 count can be purchased from Walmart for $5.97 x 4 = $23.88 for 2000 capsules.

Your saying if aspirin is frozen, as far as the exp. date is concerned the aspirin has a longer expiration date?
