That's likely to be true. However, passionate love is like a drug and can't be relied upon in the long run. People develop tolerance to the feelings of romantic lust and start to criticize and devalue their partners. Arranged marriages are often vilified in modern media, however they have the effect of keeping people together, rather than giving in to lovey frustration. Children also have that effect if divorce is seen as a highly damaging force to them, but obviously they are the ones who suffer the most through it, so they yield no benefit. People should date those they can realistically see themselves with in the long run, rather than people who they have a romantic connection with. If the people both have kids of their own, then step-sibling amiability would be something that contributes to that.Where there is love, there is no will to power.
