Stearic acid smell/taste

Hello,

I bought stearic acid from here, I tried it today but has a really strong smell like crayons or industrial chemical, it does not have taste though. Has anybody tried stearic acid and can report the smell/taste of it?

it is like eating candles. Not very pleasant.

I don't remember anymore. I was told it was food grade.
it is like a powder of fine beads.

cacao butter can also get you high levels of stearic with much less processing

As a person who uses steric acid by the hundreds of pounds for my business it absolutely should not have a smell.

Also, yeesh people just eat some butter/ghee/tallow for steric acid content, not a chemical thickening agent for cosmetics.

I am trying this one at the moment.
Its USP and much better quality than the one I posted. It's a fine powder too so its easier to dissolve in hot milk.

Haven't used it in a long time nor have I tried the supplier recommended in this thread yet.
