Buteyko experts claim that the most effective way to increase one’s control pause, ie raise the bodys CO2 set point and so improve overall health, is to perform continuous endurance exercise with strict nasal breathing of sufficient intensity that you feel some uncomfortable air hunger.

Thoughts? Peat has singled out chronic steady state cardio as the worst type of exercise, but can it actually be the most beneficial with proper breathing? I can see why it would be the most effective for breathing retraining since it creates a continuous air hunger that your body must adapt to, whereas things like HIIT or strength training barely creates any, or just very short-duration air hunger.
