What helped you the most with slow processing brain and improving speed concentration?

Nootropics? Supplements? Diet?

Neurofeedback. Supplements, diet and exercise have done a ton. However, good quality neurofeedback with a trained professional (the not app bull****!) has shifted everything. A good quality practitioner should be able to look at your QEEG and tell you how you're brain works without you sharing anything (for the most part at least) and design a program that has subjective (your experience) and objective (QEEG) changes over time. Game changer for me and my family.

How many sessions did it take you to see improvement?

I'd look to thyroid function first. Thyroid hormone levels (especially T3) correlate with IQ. As does proper glucose oxidation, so vitamin B1, pyrucet, piracetam, aspirin, caffeine, etc., should all be helpful.

The general peat diet, lowering pufa, increasing carbs / sugar which i believe improved my thyroid levels. - As Hans has stated, thyroid function is the key!

Everyone is different so typically after a few weeks of getting the right inputs dialed in, it should be noticeable. A good practitioner, like who I use, should be able to figure out what works best for you relatively fast.

However, the low hanging fruit (sleep, mood, attention/focus, etc) are typically sorted out after 4-6 months of consistent work. 2-3 times per week is optimal, no more, and you'll see the results.

I would examine diet first to see if you are supporting acetylcholine and catecholamines. If it is low in zinc, b-vitamins, choline, protein, then you are going to lack raw material for dopamine and acetylcholine activity. Not eating many eggs or organ meats daily is a good sign you are not getting enough choline.

One of the first things that I noticed once I got my thyroid dose dialled in was a huge increase in vocabulary. It wasn't like I was actively learning new words, but randomly during conversation I would use words that I didn't even think that I knew, but had learned subconsciously.

T3 will do that absolutely.

Practice is crucial I think. When working in Liverpool i found the people are so quick witted and funny but definitely not healthy

I can attest to this being a born and bred Scouser. wits are super sharp, but learning capacity has diminished exponentially through poor diet, mental health etc. Most people in Merseyside take this stuff on the chin as its a pretty carefree borough and they fill the void with a social circle of like minded folk, drinking and placing emphasis on socialising above all else, but it bothers me considerably, so i guess not that much of a Scouser afterall:rolleyes:

Quality socializing with close ones is great, lots of laughs is the most therapeutic thing. Just mind the chronic drinking and you're good to go.
would always rather hang out with Scousers than some rigid like folk who only talk about food innit

\\i wonder how much moderate drinking helps though? The lower inhibitions allows for more free thinking and that presumably has some sort of neuronal plasticity benefit
