I did a simplified version of this recipe and it was simply delicious.

- I only had 1 pound of pre-cooked shrimps so I added bite-sized potatoes (4 medium?)
- since the shrimps were pre-cooked, I used fish stock already made (it added great taste), and also added some homemade bone broth
-(when I prepare bone broth for a soup, I freeze 1 or 2 cups in the ice tray for later)
- didn't use brandy
- replaced cream with milk (I can't find cream without gums, so I replace cream with milk and butter in recipes)
- didn't have tomato paste
- overall used less liquids than the recipe asks for, but didn't measure

1. Fry gently the green pepper, potatoes, onions, and spices in butter
2. add fish stock, bone broth and tomatoes, simmer 20-30 minutes (until potatoes are cooked)
3. add milk (be careful not to boil)
4. add precooked shrimps at the last minute, just to get them warm

note: you could peel and seed the tomatoes. I found it not necessary.
