The study below tried to tease out the main factors affecting the longevity of the legendary naked mole rat - the animal with longest lifespan in its genus, and the sole mammal known to be virtually immune to developing cancer. Most of the biological/biochemical findings in regards to naked mole rats have already been found to be applicable to humans. The study describes a spectrum of longevity in that species, and discovered that the longest living members of this species are the ones who are sexually active, have low stress levels. and produce the most DHEA. The DHEA/cortisol ratio is already known in medical circles as a good predictor of morbidity and all-cause mortality, and the study below suggests that ratio may be a good predictor of longevity too.

The HPA stress axis shapes aging rates in long-lived, social mole-rats
"...Sexual activity and/or reproduction doubles life expectancy in the long-lived rodent genus Fukomys. To investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying this phenomenon, we analyzed a total of 636 RNA-seq samples across 15 tissues. This analysis suggests that the differences in life expectancy between reproductive and non-reproductive mole-rats are mainly caused by critical changes in the regulation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal stress axis, which we further substantiate with a series of independent evidence. In accordance with previous studies, the up-regulation of the proteasome and several so-called “anti-aging molecules”, such as DHEA, is also linked with enhanced life expectancy..."

DHEA definitely boosts libido, energy and youthfulness in my experience.

Every loving wife needs to read this :)

"loving wife" hmmmm. I didn't know they still existed. My mom is the only one I've personally ever witnessed. She's here with me right now taking care of my dying Dad on his 87th birthday. Madly in love since 1951.

Your mother is the example we need. Bless her.

Sexual abstinence is incredibly stressful, and sexual activity is a great way to relive stress.

Unfortunately for those with the Post Orgasmic Illness Syndrome each time whether in the sleep or consciously there is a sort of CFS-like many days after-state of fatigue, brain fog, muscles are more stiffer and things like dancing are harder to do and overall motor spatial coordination seems to be worse and voice tends to be lower in volume and harder to hear.

I’ve been doing ”NOFAP” for a while, where I sometimes have gone over a month without ejaculation. Though I do experience some benefits, I have been wondering wether it’s actually detrimental in the long run, meaning lower libido.
I mean isn’t it just another function that if ’you don’t use it, you lose it’?

The benefits I experienced thus far were mostly rewiring my brain away from porn and creepy behaviors/habbits.
Also the energy benefits after the first 10 days seem to be mostly coming from ”conquering” yourself by not giving into the desires and the pain/stress that comes with it.
I guess that’s how apparently these ancient occult practitioners of semen retention experienced deeper realities or a connection to God or something in that direction.
But you know what else brings you closer to God?
A car accident... or anything else that brings you closer to death and away from life (i.e. Fasting).

So while I do think semen retention can be a great tool to ’reset‘ faulty wiring/programming.. I have not experienced any other benefits that seem to make it worth doing for months on end.
Because the downside to me seems to be lower libido in the long run.
I’d say if you don’t have any addictions or weird habbits that are hindering you, ejaculation is great.

This article seems to coroberate that sexual activity is good.
