Serotonin, Norepinephrine, and Related Compounds in Bananas | Science
Quoting the table -
Value is the result obtained on three bananas
Considering the average weight of pulp - 130 g
Avg weight of peel - 60 g
Pulp
Serotonin - 28 mcg/g or 3.7 mg/banana
Norepinephrine - 1.9 mcg/g or 0.25 mg/banana
Dopamine - 7.9 mcg/g or 1 mg/banana
Peel
Serotonin - 65 mcg/g or 3.9 mg/banana
Norepinephrine - 122 mcg/g or 7.3 mg/banana
Dopamine - 700 mcg/g or 42 mg/banana

Just to ask, does the dopamine content balances out the serotonin ( i know it's not that simple or reductionist) but the peel contains a huge amount of dopamine(no one eats the peel).
As per my knowledge ,orally consumed serotonin/dopamine don't cross the blood-brain barrier , hence the SSRI/L-DOPA. So, the effects might be limited to GI tract , hence i asked does the dopamine balances out the serotonin.

Why did people forget the dopamine ? Anyways , people could just eat the peel coz of dopamine though it's unlikely to give them any cognitive benefits.

Is that the cavendish variety?

There are so many variants of banana and each has different effects on digestion.

Here in the philippines i dont eat lakatan and cavendish because its heavily sprayed. Its cold in the stomach. The skin looks to perfect its looks like a "plastic"

I eat the latundan and saba variety, the ones with "sugar spots skins"
