@TheSir thanks for the kind words! Likewise. Interested in trying that blend first, boil second method for cruciferous vegetables. That sounds like it could be great.

@Makrosky The exercise I have the most experience with is a simple one: reverse kegels. Deep, heels down squats and the legs-up-the-wall pose help tremendously to relax the pelvic floor, and spending some time every day in these positions can be a huge help.

But overall, every time I get an erection, I make an effort to relax the pelvic floor muscles. You can also use a tennis ball on a chair to massage the perineum. Go gently. But that can help a lot too. For a while I was doing a "BC" (not PC) muscle stretch, which allegedly you can do by firmly grabbing the base of your penis, and doing a stretch and hold. Left, right, up, down, and at angles. The stretch does feel good, and while I'm not sure if it actually stretches any pelvic floor muscles, some people swear by it.

The reverse kegels have been the biggest help for me. That and quitting porn. The only way to master sexual urges is to experience them repeatedly while deliberately maintaining an altered state of mind: relaxation. It may take years to rewire the brain to associate sexual arousal with something other than frustration and anxiety and the urgent need to release.

The commenter above me mentioning Wilt Chamberlain -- if I had access to women like that, I'd probably be doing the same thing. I've had a lot of sexual frustration and loneliness in my life, not feeling valued, feeling rejected, alone, etc. And the woman I am involved with is an ex, it's a complicated situation, and on-again-off again. She's the only woman I've ever had intercourse with in my life, so of course it's tempting to imagine being with other women, and I do experience a longing and a frustration about that. Wanting to experience things I don't feel like it's possible for me to experience.

So I'm not going to pretend there is no "lower part" of me that wants pure hedonism. The process of semen retention is one of rebalancing. Even 1.5 years into this, I still have over 17 years prior of masturbating to the point of ejaculation to porn one to three times a day (sometimes more). That's a practically unfathomable amount of programming and conditioning. When I was still able to perform sexually, me and my ex had great sex multiple times a day for a long time, and generally speaking, I felt great.

I think I would have felt even better on retention, and before the damage from the medication, retention would have been far easier. I do think there's a lot to non-ejaculatory sex being excellent for relationships. Ecstatic Hamster got me into retention by talking about it here on this forum, and claiming it practically saved his marriage, or something to that effect. It resonated with what I've read in books like Cupid's Poisoned Arrow, which gets into the Coolidge Effect, and how non-orgasmic sex can deepen connections, while orgasmic sex tends to create an addiction cycle, where you gradually get more and more bored with your partner and start craving the dopamine high of being with a new person -- and then the new person will be becoming boring too, and you end up in an endless cycle of needing novelty over and over again, never being satisfied with what you currently have.

That's been true for my experience being addicted to porn. Retention is a long, long process of reprogramming and reconditioning. 1.5 years into this and I feel like my journey has only just started today. I of course have ejaculated a fair amount of times in that period, but my first stretch was 3.5 months, which felt completely insane and mind boggling, having never gone more than maybe two days at the absolute most without ejaculating, and more often than not, never more than 12 hours.

Anyway. Lots more I could talk about. But it's life changing stuff. The reverse kegels every time I get an erection have been a huge help. I'm in a constant process of learning and I will of course admit that part of why I'm on this journey is I'm not Wilt Chamberlain, metaphorically speaking. I simply have a lack of opportunity for reasons that feel completely out of my control -- so don't mistake me for some paragon of virtue or discipline. I am probably worse than most in terms of how easily I'd slip into a purely hedonistic lifestyle if I had the opportunity.

And that in and of itself is worth changing. Acting without thinking can get you into terrible situations, especially when it comes to sex. Retention gives you a chance to check yourself before you wreck yourself. To really get in touch with who you really are, not the part of you that's simply a dopamine script running in the background that wants you to have as much sex and eat as much food as physically possible with no regard for your well-being, goals, long-term happiness and fulfillment, or anything else.

Maybe The Big Dipper would've averaged 100/50 instead of 50/25 in 61-62 if he had practiced semen retention. ;)

Probably 150/75 with 50 blocks per game leaving opponents scoring less than 25 ppg is more likely ?

Check that he'll probably have about ten rebounds and a hundred blocks since no one would get much if any chances to score

How he did not have the brain fog, fatigue and other post-ejaculation symptoms that can last for some days????
