Do these contain pufas? Is it important to remove the seeds from tomatoes before you eat them?

all seeds have pufa. i believe if you swallow them whole then you wont absorb any of the pufa, though they will irritate the gut.

my relatives strain out the seeds when they make their fall batch of tomato sauce. .

According to google people measured PUFA content of Tomato seed oil and it is 53% PUFA.
RP recommended removing tomato seeds for it's allergenicity.
Since tomato seeds are tender and if these get crushed during
chewing it can release toxins. Cooking does not destroy the allergens.

Undigested fruit seeds can cause appendicitis, though it rarely happens.
Seeds are naturally equipped with toxins for it's defence.
So,there are many reasons to avoid tomato seeds.
Nightshade is problematic for some people.

It's actually fun scraping the seeds out, like a primitive food prep / hide tanning thing *dork*

Yeah, just gently running the knife through the cavity makes them fall out in a really satisfying way.

@Maretch, lol, its geek paradise
But the fact remains I think about seeds in grape juice, apple juice (apparently a.j., they don't even try to remove them), so on and so forth to the point of only eating fruits processed AT HOME

Like applesauce, what the heck are those brown specks.

Undigested seeds often cause gut-stones (enteroliths and other concretions), but the only place they're usually noticed is in an autopsy room.
