SARS-CoV-2 found in many countries before the first officially confirmed covid-19 case

Below is a collection of reports about studies that confirmed the presence of the "new" coronavirus in sewage or blood samples collected before the official start of the coronavirus outbreak in these countries, either with PCR or antibody tests. If anyone knows of other such studies that I missed, please post them below (I'm collecting sources for an article).

Also, if anyone can explain what is the logic behind no-one blinking an eye about the fact that these studies completely invalidate the official story (either the virus was really present before but wasn't causing any extra deaths, or tests are flawed), please go ahead.

The conventional wisdom is that the SARS-CoV-2 virus began spreading in China in late 2019 and then spread to the rest of the world beginning in early 2020. However, a new study out of France indicates the virus had already arrived—and spread—in that country long before the start of the new year.

In a new article published in the International Journal of Antimicrobial Agents, investigators from the Paris Seine Saint-Denis Hospital Group in France report on the case of a man who was hospitalized in December 2019 with hemoptysis. The man was treated and discharged on Dec. 29, but after coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) became a pandemic, hospital staff retrospectively tested a respiratory sample of the patient’s for SARS-CoV-2. It came back positive.

Researchers from the University of Barcelona say they detected the virus in sewage samples were collected in the Spanish city on March 12, 2019. That’s several months before the first cases that would lead to the current pandemic were officially identified in Wuhan, China in early December.

The new coronavirus was circulating in Italy since September 2019, a study by the National Cancer Institute (INT) of the Italian city of Milan shows, signaling that Covid-19 might have spread beyond China earlier than previously thought.

Italy’s first Covid-19 patient was detected on Feb. 21 in a little town near Milan, in the northern region of Lombardy. But the Italian researchers’ findings, published by the INT’s scientific magazine Tumori Journal, show that 11.6% of 959 healthy volunteers enrolled in a lung cancer screening trial between September 2019 and March 2020, had developed coronavirus antibodies well before February.

A startling new study adds to the growing body of evidence that severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), which causes COVID-19, the pneumonic illness now sweeping the world, was circulating in Brazil’s Santa Catalina as far back as November 2019. The finding, published on the preprint server medRxiv* in June 2020, shows that it has been causing infection in Brazil long before the first case was reported in the Americas, North and South, in January 2020, and certainly before the first case in this Brazilian region.

The first autochthonous Italian case of COVID-19 was documented on February 21. We investigated the possibility that SARS-CoV-2 emerged in Italy earlier than that date, by analysing 40 composite influent wastewater samples collected - in the framework of other wastewater-based epidemiology projects - between October 2019 and February 2020 from five wastewater treatment plants (WTPs) in three cities and regions in northern Italy (Milan/Lombardy, Turin/Piedmont and Bologna/Emilia Romagna). Twenty-four additional samples collected in the same WTPs between September 2018 and June 2019 were included as blank samples. Viral concentration was performed according to the standard World Health Organization procedure for poliovirus sewage surveillance. Molecular analysis was undertaken with both nested RT-PCR and real-rime RT-PCR assays. A total of 15 positive samples were confirmed by both methods. Of these, 8 were collected before the first autochthonous Italian case. The earliest dates back to 18 December 2019 in Milan and Turin and 29 January 2020 in Bologna. Samples collected in January and February in the three cities were also positive. Our results demonstrate that SARS-CoV-2 was already circulating in northern Italy at the end of 2019. Moreover, it was circulating in different geographic regions simultaneously, which changes our previous understanding of the geographical circulation of the virus in Italy.

Positive antibody tests should be impossible before the person is first infected (RNA positive). Yet, old blood samples (2019 or before) have tested positive in significant numbers. Almost 14% of saved blood from old donations tested positive in a Dutch study, and in the validation of the Cellex and Chembio tests, 4.4% and 3.6% of old samples were positive.

I scratch my head over the correlation of that to this - is our medical system really this superstitious that they saw a "new disease" and suddenly had no idea how to treat patients thus killing them... pathetic.

Yep. Most western doctors can't function outside of the clinical pathways model of medicine. When confronted with something "new" most panicked and followed bad advice from the WHO and China, causing them to abandon established good medical practice by not treating patients early, experimenting with toxic drugs and resorting to early intubation. The real heroes of this debacle are those MDs who had the competence and courage to think outside the box and treat patients early with alternative safe drugs, which kept them out of the hospitals. They undoubtedly saved many lives.

The problem is while other countries are investigating and finding these things, the most important country, China (obviously) will not only never conduct an investigation on itself, it will even delay and impede any investigation made on it by anyone else.

Isn't that the ultimate proof the lockdowns, face masks, social distancing and s*** like that are completely unnecessary, unwarranted and should be immediatelly stopped?

Heck, this is actually an ultimate proof that it is the lockdowns, face masks, social distancing and s*** like that's killing people, not the coronavirus

Awesome find @blob69 !

So it was around a bit before 12/2019 and misdiagnosed as influenza? A month here, a month there…Either way it all kicked TF off in early 2020.

I recommend reading the book Virus Mania. I think everyone should read it so we as a society wouldn't be so sure anymore that virologists know what they're doing - either when it comes to influenza, covid-19 or other so-called viral illnesses.
