One thing is for sure. Whenever I'm well fed (solid protein intake), and I drink a raw OJ or orange & mango juice shortly after or in-between meals, it makes me feel amazing, so satisfying to my brain. If only if it weren't so expensive.
If drink it when I'm too hungry
Store-bought juice gives me gas and minor indigestion.

Probably the fructose helps to assimilate the glucose from starch.

I too added starch in form of mashed potatoes (potatoes, some milk and butter, salt) back into my diet, and I also feel it has improved my sleep and most importantly my digestion big time!

I think Peat said that mashed potatoes are almost a perfect meal. Protein+Carbs+Fats in good proportions.

In cold winters is almost the only foods that warms me up completely.

I yet have to see active, muscular, good looking people doing well with tons of OJ, milk, ice cream and white sugar.

So, till then, I'd listen to people with actual results.

For what it's worth, here is one. Her entire approach revolves around Peat and she does not promote whey protein powders etc (because of they tryptophan)--just collagen powder

Her approach to losing weight doesnt revolve around gorging yourself with 3000+kcals though.
Meal Plans - ProComp Team
Her programs start with 1200-1500kcals.

Peat approach is great for people with high metabolisms, but I don't see any obese people getting shredded with 3000+ kcal on peats diet.
She is also on steroids for whatever it's worth.

Past few months I have been sinking in anhedonia. I just need something to stimulate my life, right now energy drinks are the only thing.
I can barely engage in ordinary activities like cleaning my apartment, cooking food, I just can't focus on such petty things anymore. All the symptoms of depression.
I wanna snort coke, forget about everything in the world, have passionate sex, be loved, be desired.
I'm really craving dopamine hits.

Then try the dopaminergics suggested around here.

Try having a big fruit smoothie with ripe bananas, frozen strawberries, mango and a big piece of ginger, maybe some fresh OJ, or whatever fruits you want... and chase it with a big strong cup of coffee (I put he shou wu in mine for an extra dopamine boost).

I've discovered that this is a very potent combination, puts me in a very good mood where the world seems a lot brighter and I just forget to worry about negative things.

Hey man I can relate a lot about what your saying except I’m older than you nonetheless (38 now).

About christopher walker and AnabolicMen. They are just after your money. They are smart guys.
My health problems got much worse thanks to them. I was tired and training a lot, was depressed and looking to improve my health.
They were pumping intermittent fasting, fish oil, all kinds of (estrogenic herbs) etc. I even started high dosing iodine because of a blog post. I screwed up my health big time. Got insulin resistance, hypothyroid, hypoglycemia etc. My job , new girlfriend all took a lot of energy from me and I crashed. Low temp low pulse etc. Been trying Peat inspired diet now for over a year. Made my situation worse because I jumped on too many supplements without the knowledge. All mistakes by myself in fear and desperation. The sugar, fructose etc made my situation worse. Also stressing about every food. I gained a lot of weight and my liver problems got much worse. I now have high cortisol, low T, terrible muscle weakness, muscle wasting etc.

I’m telling you this. Be careful with what you do. Don’t take too many supplements. Be careful. Learn more, read books, like “how to heal your metabolism”. I’m from Europe as well. Good fruit is expensive and hard to get in the winter. I’m adding back starch in my diet, combine it with fruits. Avoid grains and pufa.

What you say is indeed low dopamine. It’s hard to tackle but it’s possible. You have to find purpose in life like me . I hate my job, I hate this society. Your only working to pay your bills.

sorry about my rant. Just feel I can relate.

Started my morning with:
  • fresh OJ
  • 1 scoop of whey protein + milk + sugar.
I feel realy anxious right now. Could be the tryptophan in whey + milk.
It's the first time I consumed whey protein in a long time.

How is your gut after this combination? Could some bloating and some gut issues to have increased anxiety?

@Kunstruct Beein having gut issues since high-school. I suspect this is the key to unlocking my energy levels, hair health, mental health.
And yes, I do feel more bloated this morning than usually. Mind you, I always have some form of bloating 24 / 7.

I would be careful with this, usually it is inherited and goes worse with age. While I did not have ulcerations I had gut issues, which I have "fixed" by being careful what I eat, yet at this point everything cause inflammation acutely.
You may want to do some tests to see if you have some autoimmune disease by going at a gastroenterology specialist, telling you hole story and discomfort insisting on this issue.

Also be careful most of the gastric medicine is known to cause massive prolactin spikes in certain people.
Metoclopramide, omeprazole and other prazole is full of studies on this matter.

i don't think Ali in anabolicmen is a guy after your money, maybe christopher walker is, but i followed ali before started peating, he has a good knowledge about hormones, he is against fish oil, PUFAs ( all vegetables oil), says sugar is good even white sugar, he follows some of ray peat ideas, in 2015 i think he wrote an article saying how sugar is devil but he changed his ideas in the last years, i,m just against christopher walker, ali writes articles about intermittent fasting to show evidence that it can increases androgen receptors but not promoting to do it every day.

hey did not mean to say Ali ...per se, although he earns money on references to supplements. Couple of years ago they were advising different things, like intermittent fasting, fish oil etc....now they seem much more aligned with peat, except the herbals. Couple of years ago he had a post with 10 supplements to boost testosterone, high dose iodine was one of that, pretty dangerous as I later found out. Ali did point me to Peat (by referencing him somewhere) so I'm thankful of that. Also Tim has a course on the academy which is inspired by Peat

I did not. To support the statement "lauric acid lowers testosterone or DHT" you need to have two groups one of which is given lauric acid+ a standard diet, while the other group receives only a standard diet. Then, you look at serum testosterone and DHT. Very simple, really. As I said, the study you posted simply shows that lauric acid prevented the harmful effects of exogenous testosterone, or had some effect on absorption.
This study showed that lauric acid did have some pro testosterone effects, in the the lowest dosage the higher dosages were didnt have such a strong effect or no effect. Another things was that Coconut oil was very protective for sperm health, when lauric acid alone wasnt.
