If Ray is correct about the fact that Omega 3s are close to poison, how to explain outcomes like this? Amarin fish oil capsule shows dramatic benefit for cardiovascular patients
One would have to see the study first to reliably comment; by the looks of things this isn't a neutral, unbiased study but from the article it's designed to boosts the company's stocks and obviously drum up interest in the product itself. Also, a reduction in heart disease related deaths doesn't imply a reduction in all cause mortality. If anyone has access to the study I'd be interested to look at it.

Absolutely nothing new here. Hagve and Christophersen, 1988 and Ritskes-Hoitinga, et al., 1998, as Dr. Peat as referenced before, all showed there are damaging effects on the liver that in turn reduce triglyceride production. So, now they usher in the same ole poison with a new name slapped across it.

Amarin reports positive results from REDUCE-IT study; shares up 307% premarket

Amarin (NASDAQ:AMRN) is up 307% premarket on robust volume in response to its announcement of positive results from its large-scale cardiovascular outcomes study REDUCE-IT trial for Vascepa (icosapent ethyl). Results showed that patients receiving 4 g/day of Vascepa experienced ~25% lower risk of a major adverse CV event (MACE) compared to placebo.

Detailed results will be presented at the American Heart Association Scientific Sessions on November 10 in Chicago.

Management will host a conference call this morning at 8:00 am ET to discuss the data.
