Does thyroid hormone therapy require greater adrenal output or a certain adrenal hormone ?

On stopthethyroidmadness they talk a lot about cortisol being necessary for thyroid to work. I don't know it that is true though.
Any input from the others?

Ray's analogy is to think of thyroid versus adrenal output like a piece of string pulling in one direction or the other. Thyroid will reduce adrenal requirement.

Thyroid can supposedly make you more sensitive to adrenaline although this isn't something I experienced.

They are two sides of the same system.

Thyroid defines the long term basal metabolic rate, while the adrenal fills in and pumps extra hormones in times of emergency (stress). If the stress is maintained, the thyroid adaptively shuts down to reduce energy expenditure.
