Red Light Therapy for Infants?

Can you use 660nm red light for newborn babies or infants? I can't find much online except some people using a red night light above the crib and saying it can help with sleep. I'm wondering whether it would be useful for: 1) improving sleep, and 2) improving thyroid function. The baby in question was born 2 months premature, has never been breastfed because the mother was ill, and is now overweight at 5 months of age (3 months adjusted age) and is not growing very well.

Would appreciate any suggestions or thoughts on using red light, how and for how long, or whether that would be contraindicated for some reason.

I asked Ray Peat for you, though I didn’t ask about the exact bulb.

Rinse & rePeat:
“Is it safe or necessary to use red light on a newborn or infant?”

RAY PEAT:
“As far as I know, it’s safe.”
