Hello,

I stumbled over a book called "37°C the secret of ideal body temperature for optimal health" on amazon.de.
It is written by a German doctor. He found, that more and more of his patience have chronic low body temperature. He treats them with an infrared heating mat. I haven't read the book, I just watched some of his YouTube Videos.

https://www.amazon.de/37°-Geheimnis-Körpertemperatur-optimale-Gesundheit/dp/3864454352

The main tool, that he recommends to bring body temperature (BT) back to optimal 37°C / 98,6 °F is sleeping on a far infrared mat.

He endorses the "bioMat from Richway".
Biomat®

This mat is really expensive. I am thinking about to buy it in January. So I would like to ask what you think about using a heating mat for optimize BT. I like that you can heal is a passive way while you sleep and improve sleep quality.

The great thing about that mat, is according to some youtube videos it should be EMF free, which es essential. I bought very cheap version infrared mat for around 300€ and sent in back, because it produced heavy EMF.

The marketing of this product smells fishy, because it is high price, there are of affiliates etc.

It would be nice, if someone has already some experience with sleeping in a EMF free infrared heating mat?
If you know cheaper alternative, please share.

If far infrared is the healing factor you should achieve the same with those far infrared bulbs. They are pretty cheap compared to those mats.

The past few nights, I put a mylar blanket under my fitted sheet. It seems to work well at reflecting/conserving your own IR. I woke up warmer the past few mornings, and seemed to sleep better these past few nights. There are some issues (it's thin, sounds like wrapping paper when you move), but early results are positive. I'm thinking about getting a thicker IR tarp to use. There seem to be some options on amazon around 20-40 bucks. I've also had an IR illuminator on when I sleep, so that might be part of it.

I also noticed Inclined Bed Therapy seems to make me warmer when I sleep. If you look at that thread, Andrew Fletcher found sleeping inclined prevented the drop in body temp that usually occurs at 3am. My experience agrees with that.

So, those could be some cheaper alternatives to accomplish the same thing.

Thanks for your answers.

There are also FIR heatling panels available.

I sleeping inclined since it popped up in the forum.

A free englisch version of the book is at https://www.aquacentrum.com/media/p...mperature-as-the-Secret-to-Optimum-Health.pdf

I have a less expensive heating pad (but I generally do not use it while in bed). I purchased it for a sprain, but it keeps my wife toasty warm while watching tv during the cold winter evenings. We are both very happy with it.

Thanks for the book link.

The mat looks good. I am using a similar one for sleep around my feet.
My morning temp were always 97.3°F and with using the mat I could raise it to 97.88*

Make a big fire in your yard and sit with friends and family around. Lots of infrared. Good for socializing too.

Nice, but rather impractical.

And if you have family where everyone has low metabolism/ hypo (like me ;)
Nobody wants to socialise, for except when they drank few glass of vodka or liquor.

What's an IR illuminator?
Thanks

I have seen good results from inclined bed therapy as well. My heart rate and temps actually stays at 90 and 97.8 degrees F while sleeping.

Just wanted to let you know, I have started to experiment a bit more with FIR. I got an infrared heating pad, and also just ordered one of the amethyst full body FIR and negative ion mats. If you are still into this, I'd be interested in updates, but will also post my own.

Also, here's a Haidut thread that flew a little under the radar that suggests the entire idea of using heat (from any source, but including FIR) can be very beneficial for mitochondrial function.

I'm getting a magnetic blanket to experiment. Very very powerful magnets that are supposed to lower inflammation throughout the body, to complement my work with hydrogen inhalation.

For these active infrared mats, aren't you concerned about electric fields?

I was, but after watching a few people do EMF experiments with the mats, I don't think it's much of an issue. This one was really interesting. There appears to be a threshold with temperature, and that's on the connection itself. It starts at about 3:30, and it appears that less than 122 degrees F is okay EMF wise. Even max temp doesn't produce significant EMF on the mat itself.

How is the hydrogen inhalation going? Most of the better machines seem fairly expensive. But was thinking about the LGS hydrogen water machine plus canula.
