Yeah, the global warming thing was the bombshell to me.
I'd been sortuv wondering how Peat felt about it,
given his very positive view of C02.
But I'd never heard him address it before.

I guess his comments in the interview were a little oblique.
When asked by Greenhouse (ha! really)
something like "what does all that mean for us"
(about the growing CO2 in the air)
Peat answered:

"It means we don't have to worry about increasing the atmosphere [guess his way of saying C02]
because it stimulates life at all levels."

I say "oblique"...or maybe just incomplete,
because he didn't try to take on the entire subject
(other pollutants, coral death, sea level rise, extinctions, etc)

Frankly I think an extra 5-10% WILL start a snowball effect after a while in a balance like our planet's

I agree, it would result in major shifts in environmental homeostasis... radically changing existing ecosystems and damaging human infrastructure but in the long run would probably increase total biomass and biodiversity.

The earths history is full of events where animals and plants radically altered the climate and atmosphere:

Oh ***t higher CO2 levels are correlated with dinosaurs

That's what happens when you eat too much plant fiber.
