Question about Thiroyd from PPP

Hi there,

I started taking 1 grain Thiroyd from pimpomproducts on June 19, for the past 3 days I've had low-grade nausea, it is unpleasant. No other symptoms, no increased energy or temperature, etc.

Has anyone had this symptom, would changing to another NDT be a good idea? has anyone started with Thiroyd and switched to something else, what would be good?

I'm a bit of a rookie with these.

thanks!

tbh I've had a crappy response with all their products (Thyroid-S, Thiroyd, TR Man). Some people with no response to one get a better response to the other, but if that isn't the case, you might try something from Mexico. Or just go doctor hunting for one who will prescribe NDT (I know that's a b**** though)

I have no expertise with thyroid or experience with pimpomproducts, so my ideas are from reading.
Is this your first thyroid supp, or are you switching from some other kind? If you are beginning now, and you have checked that you are meeting nutrient needs - remembering that they will increase with increased metabolism - you could just try starting at a lower dose, like 1/4 or 1/2 a grain. After 3 weeks of monitoring temps etc, consider whether it makes sense to increase a little.

Ok thanks. I didn't take it today, no nausea. Ugh, having a garage sale this weekend, predicted to be 100'F no fun. I will be getting hormone labs and iron panel results next week, so will be looking into that too.

This is my first go-around with NDT, tests indicate hypo, won't get to my endo referral till past mid October, so wth, I decided to take a go at it myself.

I might try a lower dose. Still looking for feedback on the Thiroyd. Is this stomach ache thing normal? will it get better?

Feel free to post your results if you want to - others here may have more advice based on more info.

If you have been diagnosed as hypothyroid by tests, my guess is they will do you good. But even so, I'd favour a precautionary approach to gradually increasing.

A sudden increase in thyroid supp can give some temporary effects like increased sensitivity to adrenaline. That may give some symptoms for some people. I don't know if that would have anything to do with your stomach issue. Do you have other suspects? Eg recent food, or sometimes there are just random transient bugs etc that can mess with stomach?

I didn't take any Thiroyd yesterday, no nausea. I don't usually get stomach bugs, per se.

This nausea, is it similar to the kind of feeling you get when you've had too much coffee/caffeine? Assuming you know what that feels like...

What I'm getting at is that my experience with thyroid has been that it's never really produced a noticeable energizing or warming effect for me. The only noticeable change was that it did improve digestion/regularity.

And when I increased the dosage so that I was feeling some caffeine like jitteriness — I found out that I was taking too much. Here are my blood test results from that time when I was taking about 2-3grains of Thiroyd/day

TSH 0.016 | 0.45-4.5 uIU/mL (LOW)
T3 8.7 | 2-4.4 pg/mL (HIGH)
T4 1.24 | 0.82-1.77 ng/mL

The lesson I learned: Don't just go by how you feel, get a blood test if you can.

Also, thyroid alone may not produce any noticeable, magical energizing warming effects. Having said that: adequate thyroid may be one of the factors that has reduced/eliminated my cold hands/feet symptoms — I barely even notice/think about that anymore.

Also if you're not getting a good response make sure your cortisol isn't low/high
what can you do about it if your levels arent good?

I'm researching possibly taking thyroid.

My concern is, once I start taking it, will I have to take it indefinitely?

Do most people get to a point where they no longer need it?

It depends on who you speak to, most Doctors and Specialists will tell you you have to be on it for the rest of your life if you have an autoimmune disease. Usually with changes in diet and lifestyle improvements then you can typically reverse Hashimito's (for example) which then means you don't have to be on thyroid medication for the rest of your life. I plan on reversing my diagnosis and healing my body.

One of the ingredients in Thyroid -s and Thiroyd, is lactose. I can take both no problem , however when i gave it to my daughter , who is lactose intolerant, it caused her to feel nausea . So she has to take Armour Thyroid it has no lactose in it. Also i was reading that the new product Tman thyroid that PP has,is lactose free also gluten free. I have ordered some for her to try , have not received it yet.

Hi there, followup a few months later. I switched to a new GP, she rx Nature Throid 97.5mg for 8 weeks, finally upped my dose to 2x /day. I've been taking liquid 30mcg T3 from Bluesky Peptides in the morning before I get up. Supplementing iron and 200 mg progesterone. I'm feeling decent, the depression went from a 10/10 to about a 7/10. When I upped my dose of NT from 97.5 mg to 2x I started sweating all night. Ugh, that's not fun, but the only side effect. I am following the STTM protocol and it seems to be working pretty well. My only challenge right now is trying to get the NT covered by insurance, it doesn't cover any NDT and requires all that preauthorization paperwork BS and my dr. office keeps screwing up.

So happy to hear you have some relief! I've been on NDT for about 8 months, I'm actually reducing the dose now as my Hashis is starting to be under control through diet and a few other alternative medicines. I'm determined to show my GP that Hashis is reversible as many people before us have. Sending you continued love and support on your journey xxx
