Pumpkin. Sugar Or Starch?

Is pumpkin considered a sugar or starch? As i read on many paleo,gaps,scd sites to add pumpkin as a carbsource yet the tag at the store says. its only 2grams of carbs,of which 2grams sugar?

Mostly fiber, but some sugar.

Thanx, though I haven't had pumpkin in a while anymore. Season for it here is over,but I see those Butternut pumpkins at the markets but I never have had them.
