Any reason why I get "pruney" fingers incredibly quickly compared to most people? Even happens under very humid conditions.

I've always had horrid skin around my nails largely due to it peeling/ripping so easily when in the "prune" state.

When I was going overboard with Peating, my fingers would prune in less than 60 seconds. It was something I picked up on fast. I was taking in LOTS of salt and LOTS of sugar. Why it happened I can't be bothered analyzing. We're informed now that the pruning is a response of the nervous system to reduced grip while under water. Like you my cuticles were also very dry and cracked.

That is debated. Someone actually studied it and so no improvement in grip or sensation.
