Does anyone have any recommeded reads for Prolactin and its mechanism of action? Understanding its physiological action is difficult for me to interpret.

I understand that hyperprolactemia is a sign of stress or poor functioning metabolism and can correlate with high PTH, bone loss, low energy, high estrogen, low thyroid...but I would like to learn through physiological processes, signaling through a schematic if possible. In my Master program in Nutrition there is no information on prolactin.

Any thoughts would be great!

Thanks every.

Hello Ewlevy1! I'm not sure this is what you're looking for, but this diagram is really useful to put prolactin in perspective. It lacks the stimulatory effect of serotonin on prolactin release, though.
