In my case, I began menstruating on March 4, so I would start using progesterone again on March 18, continue using it until April 1, and stop using it on April 2 when my next menstruation begins (potentially)?
Correct @seraphim.

I am one who used high dose because of estrogen dominance IN periomenopause. Gradually I reduced that dose down. Other women on high doses using continuously often say they are in menopause and experiencing problems.

If you are experiencing normal menstrual cycles, you might not need super high doses or continuous usage.

strange - i have a progesterone cream that is 1ml=100mg

and I casually use, 2 or 3 ml, and just get mild calming, barely notice it anymore
This makes sense @johnwester130. I think as a person's overall metabolic health and general health improves, there might not be a need for it anymore.
