Hi, im 30 years old male.i Suffer from Hypothyroidism, My last TSH test was 5.4.

I come from Over Exercising.

I did order Pregnenonole(50mg) and im ordering Cynomel.

I will take the pregnenolone in the morning(50mg). And was thinking about taking Cynomel 2 times per day(will start with 25mcg splitt in 2 dose).

My question is this.

Should i start taking pregnenolone first then take the cynomel after? Or should i take cynomel first then the pregnenolone?

Thank you

I'd say pregnenolone first. That's what I did anyway. It's good to notice the effects of different things separately.

Welcome.

First of all, in addition to the TSH, do an inventory of low thyroid symptoms and track resting (sitting) baseline pulse and temperature, to help monitor your response both before and during the relief measures.

If the low thyroid symptoms are severe, supplementary thyroid might bring the more prompt relief. If the Pregnenolone is on hand first, that's a reasonable start IMHO. As j mentioned, tracking response to one thing at a time is clearer.

My experience is that T3 (Cynomel/Cytomel) is best taken in smaller amounts more frequently, like, say four times per day (6 mcg per dose). But take a test dose or two before doing the full amount in one day. Over the long term, T4 in ratio with T3 works better for most, IME.

Thank you for the replies.

About Pregnenolone. What dose should i use first? Is 50mg enough or 100mg(2 pill) would be better?

There are other factors that can induce temporary hypothyroidism.
Low carbohydrate/sugar,low protein, high endotoxin, low selenium,
over exercise etc. I would try diet to fix the problem and if it does not
work then i will try thyroid supplements. You are relatively young and
if you are lean then you have a higher chance of quick recovery.
Even if you try thyroid supplements you will need a good diet to
support your increased metabolism. You will still need a healthy liver
to convert T4 to T3. RP mentioned that T4 is more effective at lowering
TSH. You also need total T3 , total T4 and reverse T3 to get a clear
idea about your thyroid function. Measuring temperature and pulse
1-2 hours after breakfast is a good indicator of metabolism.
One of the drawback of thyroid supplement is to find the right dose.
You also need to check your cholesterol level before starting thyroid supplement.
RP also recommends slow introduction of thyroid supplement to minimize
the excess adrenaline sensitivity. Are you following a peat style diet?
RP has mentioned that people fixed their hormonal imbalance by eating raw
carrot salads in few days. Raw carrot salad increases liver function by
lowering endotoxin burdens on liver. Here is a link to quotes on thyroid dosing.
