What's your goal?
If it's to feel good forget it, pregnenolone blunts emotions.
If it's to optimize health, pregnenolone is great

It doesn`t blunt emotions. It has anti serotonin, pro dopamin and gaba properties so you don`t behave like a b**** and cry about things you cannot fix now :)

You're reading a book, I'm talking about my real life experience.

This is anecdotally speaking from my side also. I don`t know if you can read real from fake feelings. But this is why being social is so important, this is where your true emotions comes together. Taking Pregnenolone will make you more in the moment with the people in your surroundings. Being emotional alone brings forth thoughts that are not really relevant, even though it feels good. Being emotional among others can skew the energy not making you connect, no vibing energy.

Well, improving health mainly. Lost all my hair (70%) really quickly and now I just feel fat, cold and bloated all the time. I'm really young so I thought andro could help with androgen...

I actually know exactly what you speak of. I thought I didn't feel anymore when I started doing preg+andro...but it's not that (for me). Not feeling is more like dissociating and distant....and the feelings I used to have a lot of I realized weren't "real" for lack of a better word....they were more like dissociated dysregulation. But I can't say I don't sometimes miss that state.

Yes! That state feels good, and I sorta miss it too, the daydreamer, the nostalgic, the melancholy etc. Dissociated dysregulation is what they use in the psychiatric field and is often used in the context of serotonin dominant symptoms, even though they don`t recognize it as too high serotonin, but too low. I find it easy being creative and I crave being social, I find it hard too play video games, watch movies and tv-show. But this quarantine is making me want too find something too relax/engage with, but in reality I would want someone to relax/engage with. This quarantine is making people accept the state of fantasy and social distancing, making them prone to a wide variety of mental and somatic diseases. We(some wants us too) use fantasy to fill our needs.

Interesting... this really puts into words what I've been experiencing many times. A kind of dreamy, distant, nostalgic state and often stuck in some fantasy in my own head, or wanting to get lost in some other world through books or games. Sometimes feels very "deja-vu"ish. It's kind of pleasant but at the same time I recognize it's not experiencing life to it's fullest and it makes it harder to connect with others.

So this would actually be a high serotonin state? Any way to "turn it off"?

Well you have anti serotonin drugs. I feel the carrot salad and stop eating starches is a smart solution. Sun, meeting new people, being social, creative etc. I think going out for drinks and partying gives a big anti serotonin boost, but can leave you in a pro serotonin state if you push it too hard. High thyroid function and being altruistic is considered good health, so by lowering pufa, serotonin, taking thyroid and doing good things for other people you will put yourself in a good loop.

Thanks that is good advice, actually having some carrots with salt right now! :DBack when I was backpacking and meeting new people all the time, partying, being out in the sun etc, is when I've felt the best emotionally. When I sit alone at home is when I tend to drift back into serotonin-land

Also from personal experience I believe gut health massively impacts your mood and outlook on the world.

A few years back when I was eating lots of starch and indigestible fiber I would feel almost bipolar, would often binge on weird porn, had pretty bad social phobia and sometimes couldn't leave my room, dwelling on serotonergic feelings/emotions, and so on. When facing even the slightest adversity in my life it would set me off on a rollercoaster of self-loathing and negativity + porn binge. Hypocholesterolemia from eating a vegan diet probably made everything a lot worse.

Switching to a peat inspired diet - especially cutting out starch and irritating fibers - has really changed me as a person. I'm not nearly as neurotic as before and really have no desire to self-sabotage or binge on porn any longer. I also have a stronger desire to socialize and not just sit alone in my room all the time. Maybe this is what it feels to be "normal" lol

Do the androgens make you more rude, or is that just your regular personality?

Weird you're feeling attacked and uneasy with a comment that is not directed at you.
Especially when there was not an ounce of rudeness in it, just questioning from my end.

I don't feel attacked at all. But your posts have been very confrontational lately wouldn't you agree? I'm not even saying you need to change it, it is just a very unconventional communication style lol.

I still enjoy your posts, you have interesting experiments going on.
