So I've read through many threads and comments on other Peat sites and what seems to be most lacking is success stories from folks following a Peat-type diet. My assumption is that most of the folks who have adopted this eating style and had success no longer visit these forums since their health has improved... leaving the bulk of posters/readers as those who have had less success, still adjusting or are newcomers. That being said, I think it is vital to capture some of the results!

I've created a survey with open results that can be accessed here:
 [highlight=#00ffbf]http://www.raypeatforum.com/survey.html[/highlight]
If you think this is a good idea, please feel free to post link in other threads where relevant.

If you would prefer to respond in forum, here is a summary of the questions:
Poll:
  • Demographics: Age/Gender/Height/Weight
  • Diet:
  • [tab=30]% of diet that is Peat
  • [tab=30]# of months or years following diet
  • Supplements: taking anything or was anything critical on path to success?
  • Results:
  • [tab=30]Changes in body: weight/body fat/skin/hair
  • [tab=30]Changes in quality of life: energy level, sleep, athleticism, brain fog, mood, libido, digestion.
  • [tab=30]Vitals/Blood: body temp/pulse/blood work

*Link below is to review the results of poll:

I have seen many posts where people improved a lot following RP diet.
But i can not verify whether these really happened or not.
There was a member on this forum with two different accounts
making fake posts on imaginary issues with RP diet.
That person made hundred of posts describing how
his/her health got worse following RP diet. But he/she was making up these
whole thing. I believe he/she was trying to prove that low carb paleo is better than
Ray Peat inspired diet. That person claimed to be a nutritional counsellor.
I think he/she made tons of other similar fake posts to make the same point.
I can understand how a low carb paleo guru would do these kind of crazy thing.
Because, a large number of RP followers are ex-low carb paleo people.
I think he/she got upset losing clients.
There are tons of verifiable information on this forum.
Anyone can check those fake posts by Imonaquest/jaketthomas.

He/she was definitely crazy like most low carber.
But i think there is a financial motivation involved.
Whenever i see post here claiming that they were in great
health following low carb paleo i get suspicious it is jaketthomas.

Lol... that's sad. Spending the time to try and spread misinformation when everyone is really just in the same boat of trying to take charge of their own health. I've read many of the success stories on here but it always leaves me with more questions, so my goal was to create something that would have more of a contextual comparison (for example knowing if the post is coming from a 22 yr old male vs. 50 yr old female).

I'm also trying to pull together a list of common responses/advice to frequent ailments and questions.

Poll:

Demographics: 29 Male
Diet:
Most of my diet was Peat style
5 months
Supplements: Tried various Niacinamide supplements... most made me sleepy. One work really really well with
mental clarity, but I started losing my hair on it.
Cynomel / Cynoplus - Caused Hair Loss and a lot of stress on my body it seemed

Tried Ondansetron / cyproheptadine - Both did little to nothing
Tianeptine - First couple days were ok, but it seriously messed me up after a couple of days.
Results:
Changes in body: maybe gained ten pounds from low carb, lost a decent amount of hair and have some bad tooth damage.
Changes in quality of life:I suffer from depression, with no libido and was looking for relief. There wasn't any unfortunately. My sleep was starting to suffer and I had to go back on a SSRI because I was freezing.

Charlie, is there a way to run the poll in the forum rather than or in addition to the external link?

I came into this knowledge in a peculiar place, to say the least. It was because of Ray's masterful wording, ideas, and the people here that convinced me to rethink a lot of things, and of course diet. Its empowered me. I gained weight, but that was intentional, and beneficial, because I was a good twenty pounds underweight when I first came upon this info...big time hypothyroid. Now I am still may considered underweight, or right at the margin...and I basically eat the same. Honestly I can say that its the overall principles that Peat speaks that have benefitted me the most, and helped me to sort out thoughts, and relate experience into something more over arching, whole, accurate, and true. All of that translated to me honing my diet better for what empowers me the most.

Summed up results:

probably 80% Peat, though by the principle definitions, since what I do works for me, its kind of 100%. I gained weight to my optimum and no more, and find it easy to maintain what is best for me and makes sense, which Peat and the people discussing his work helped me to sort out and realize. Of course, it wasn't just this at all, but it played, and plays, a significant factor

I tried and couldn't find a way to make it work... if anyone knows of another way I'd be happy to do it. In the meantime the results are public and I'll go ahead and post a summary in here in a few weeks or whenever there are enough results to put out some stats.

I think libido and digestion(constipation, moving bowels regularly, etc) should be added somewhere to the poll if possible. :2cents

I have made a page with the results of the poll. This way anyone can see the results.

http://www.raypeatforum.com/results.html

It still would be great if we could get as many people as possible getting in on the poll. You can remain completely anonymous, there is no need to put in a name.
