Tom Harkin, who was the chairman of the Senate health committee “is now a top lobbyist for Merck.”
Our standard of living is high because we rape the third world. Our prosperity is built on the backs of the rest of the world. It’s called “colonialism” and most recently “humanitarian relief”.Please consider getting your brain tested. US is a cancer? I guess that is why the world wants to mover here and Obama was all good news? Remember the $150 billion (no typo) Nobama sent to IRAN? Are you freakin crazy? I suggest you look at the prosperity of this country and your ability to live better unless you favor socialism. Brain washing apparently works.
I suggest you look at the prosperity of this country
Obama and Clinton also represented the right.that said, big pharma's highest profits in the last 25-30 years have been during clinton & obama terms, so it would seem trump & the right are not the only politicians getting bought by pharma.
Obama and Clinton also represented the right.
There's a great deal of the world to the left of all 3 of them - some of it probably pretty honest.
But if you are suggesting that it's prosperity is evidence that people comparing the US economy with cancer are crazy, I suggest considering that some key characteristics of cancers are uncontrolled growth, taking resources for their growth to the detriment of the host organism, and polluting and harming the surrounding environment with their aggressions and byproducts. If you are not aware that these have been significant features of the US economy and foreign policy for a long time, then I suggest reading history from a wider range of sources. (Not that the US is alone in some of these things, but it's been a dominant player in the field.)
I think you are right that big pharma has huge political influence, and that it's not just about any one or a select few individuals politicians.big pharma is a marketing machine
Indeed, the US did not invent colonisation. I'm not sure it's useful to try to compare which was worst - they all had some terrible effects. And there have been others. In recent decades, the US has been a big player.Lest we forget the Dutch East India Company, the British East India Company, the Russians in Alaska and Canada, the colonies of Britain like India, South Africa and Canada and of course the Americas. All raping the people and the environment long before the USA. Some might say worse.
