Peripheral Neuropathy

For the peripheral neuropathy not caused by diabetes, with numbness, lack of proprioception, lack of sense of where the limbs are in space, etc. has anyone found something which can help?

My husband is dealing with this. He's benefited from reducing caffeine (ironically, offsetting my increasing it). It was recommended he try pretty high doses of niacinamide, taurine and glycine, which he never did -- but supposedly that can be helpful, as well as highish doses of thiamine, particularly the fat soluble form.
