Anyone consider myomassology (massage therapy)? They make good money, around $29 an hour for begining wages if you work for a company, and if you work for yourself you can make around 40-100$ an hour (or more if u play ur cards right). Usually part time work is normal and the whole job itself is in a relaxing environment, you actually help people, and the pay is livable. Schooling is usually a year or 2 and is affordable. Other methods of saving money and living a happy, aesthetically pleasing life, is to buy property and build a tiny home on it, rather than investing in a suburban house. Tiny homes are cool and extremely cheap, and if you own a large chunk of property somewhere nice you can grow food and spend time in nature.

Breaking out of the rat race requires you to abandon the American Dream and not even try to assimilate into neoliberal society(spending money you don't have on things you don't need). Start with never taking a loan out on a depreciating asset (car) or speculating(mortgaged) on real estate with perpetually increasing propriety taxes. Starting side businesses, and living frugally and your already ahead of 95% of the population.

With investing you let a company work for you instead of working for a company. You can even choose which companies you want to support and which not. For instance, pharma is a big no go for me, for obvious ethical reasons...

When beyond meat went public last year I knew for a fact it was going to gain a lot especially in the next few years, however I just couldn't get myself to buy it because I just cant live with knowing I'm involved with the fake meat vegan junk industry. I would have made 100% returns in a year if I got it. No regrets though, at least for now

Nice, are you doing it with options?

80% of Options expire worthless.

I made a full year of rent 18k in 3 days. Then I lost it all on the subsequent bets, actually took a lost of $2,000.

The casino is tempting since our entire economy is based on it and wall street has complete Government and Central Bank Capture. But time is always better spent building skills.

Trades or online business.

I've had friends waste months trying to trade only to end up broke and furthur behind.

Sad to see Robinhooders and early twenties/college kids gambling since the future looks so bleak.

"From 1927 to 1929 the Fed deliberately created then burst a stock bubble using interest rates. Republican President Hoover signed the Smoot-Hawley Tariff act in 1930 to defend American industry, resulting in a trade war that was blamed along with Hoover for the Great Depression that was brought on by an economy bloated with debt and easy money during the Roarin’ Twenties boom. Hoover was blamed and lost re-election to Democrat FDR with his New Deal. Behind all were the actions of the Federal Reserve, the real power. Soon it will be clear if 2020 will be a modern era repeat of the Hoover script, this time with a Democrat whose “New Deal” will likely be green"- F William Engdahl.
Will Fed Make Trump A New Herbert Hoover?

Somthing tells me everyone is going to get wipped out in the next few months and trumps "protectionism" and refusal to step down(rightfully or not) will bring down the entire market.

Then we will get the Great Reset

its cause the average person doesn't know when to buy things. Anytime a stock is on the way up, that means its not the time to buy it. So anyone investing right now is being dumb cause it's reaching record highs. When a stock is at its highest, it means it has the most to lose. When a stock has pretty much crashed however, or in a recession, that's when you buy, because it has the most to gain with the least amount to lose. To know that it won't go bankrupt you have to look up their cash flow and financials and see how much debt they have, if their net income is starting to trend up, their assets, etc. Almost no-one does this, they just buy stocks based on what they read online or if they have a "hunch" it will go up. When the bubble bursts and the stock market crumbles, unfortunately that's the best time to buy and the elite know that. if you truly want to profit off stocks, you have to buy once the majority of people have lost their money. Contrarian investing is what it's called I believe. Howard Marks has a good book on it called "the most important thing"

No mostly stock, I try not to trade too much, just buy great companies with a long runway of growth. I use some margin as well. I sometimes use options, mostly call options, in the form of LEAPS (Long-Term Equity Anticipation Securities), those your just options which have an expiry date of around 2 years into the future

I'm considering starting a dog walking business. I think that could be a pretty good "Peaty" job. Outdoors (vitamin D), lots of walking, being your own boss, time every day in nature, short working day, etc. Would need high calorie intake though, I'd imagine, and certainly not stress-free.

Sounds really good yes. If you have the energy to do it!

I think the most peaty job should :

Minimize exposure to EMF and Blue Light- so that means minimal TV, Phone, video, or Phone Calling exposure
Minimize exposure to toxic materials, chemicals, smoke
Minimize time spent being exposed to bad lighting (think office/school environments)
Adequate time for breaks (to refill on food and drinks) so nothing that keeps you on your toes the whole time
Something social where you talk to other people

Already this eliminates 99% of jobs -

Any corporate, hospital, school, factory, warehouse, retail, construction, police, firefighter, mechanical, grooming, food jobs, recruiter or other jobs spent on phone/video is an offender of one or more of these rules so I view it as you have to cut some corners somewhere

The best peaty job I came up with is soccer coaching that allows you to wear your own clothes (many try to have me put on polyster uniforms) (pay isn't bad if you get your licenses and stuff), maybe maintaining a park or campsite (but these jobs are very secluded and I felt a bit lonely doing this), grocery delivery (but then you are still exposed to having to use your phone as well as using a car but at least you work your own hours - who knows what you are inhaling on long hours driving)

I think you have to cut corners somewhere - I truly can't think of any job that really does well checking all these boxes - passive income if you had your own business is the best in my view but easier said than done

I was thinking something like a beekeeper or doing farm work. Farm work at a small family farm seems pretty good if you can find an open position. Most provide housing and a decent salary, away from 5g, spend a lot of time outdoors, access to farm fresh foods.

Really ? That does sound like a great idea - really hadn't thought about that - definitely going to look into that myself
