So after ditching starch and fats out of my diet for 30 days and replaced it with fruit (mostly apples, apple-juice and applesauce)
i have started to have lower back pains on de left side.
i think that my kidneys are hurting (?)
Never had this feeling before in my life so i blame the apples/fructose.

Is there some connection thats sugar/fructose/fruit can increase kidney damage?
Or is this a detox symptom?
(edit: i dont think the low fat is causing the trouble because i eat almost my whole life lowish fat)

Or is it my liver?

I think boosting metabolism can cause back pain if calcium/vitamin D is low.

i take everyday 5000 iu vit d
and some days i eat quark or take 1 gr eggshell powder.
maybe on the low side but dairy makes me bloat, increased water retention and calcium makes me constipated, and so far i have not found a solution for this.

Are you digesting your new diet well? Constipation can cause back pain

last couple days i have not be constipated because i keep my calcium low.
But yesterday and today i do had lower bag pain for a couple of minutes.
Besides the pain energy is great so no digesting troubles i guess.

Hgreen56 hi, were you able to solve it? I have the same thing - left lower back pains from peating (no starch, just fruit + protein + veggies)

well i am still in high fructose/apple "diet" but i don't have these pain anymore.
I think it was the caffeine tablets that was hurting my kidneys.
its cause or inflammation or dehydration (i always dehydrate very fast when i take caffeine)

Be careful with vitamin D. Tests should be done to confirm there is not any high calcium or high 1,25 calcitriol. Also I know for me too much fructose can overburden the kidneys. It's something Chris Masterjohn talks about for people at risk for kidney stones
