Does anyone have any orange jucier (electric or manual) recommendations ? Or do hand squeeze it.
How do you guys get so much orange? I have seen people state that they do half a gallon per day.
Any comments would be great thanks.

I used to use the Champion for carrot juice, I never thought to use if for oranges. Does all the pulp come out the front?

How does it taste? Any different than regular hand squeezed OJ?
I am wondering if this kind of juicer would extract more pectin
than simple squeezing. Are you worried that acid in orange will
leach plastic into the juice?

Taste so wonderful. Tastes the same as squeezing it far as I can tell.

The orange touches it for a brief moment, I don't think much would be able to leech if any.

I have a Power Grind Pro (Jay Kordich) and a Breville. I use/like both/either. I like the fresh juice better than from a carton (personal preference I am sure)

re: the plastic, I am certainly not an expert, but I remove my juice quickly and put it in a mason jar to store it. It is not in contact with plastic for longer than a few seconds.

Yeh with mine the juice hits it for less then half a second and shoots right out the bottom into a glass bowl.

Shove the oranges in the top, juice shoots out the bottom, fiber shoots out the front. No I do not remove the seeds.

I used to do that same thing , thinking it's only few seconds.
But making 1 quart of OJ everyday can weaken the plastic wall
I remember reading that some plastics are acid resistant.
I do not know for sure if the plastic in juicer is resistant to citric acids.
I do not think any of the juicer maker ever tested if plastic is leaching in the juice.
This news article cites several studies showing antimony leaching from
plastic in water and fruit juice bottles.

That is an almost perfect machine. But this one will leach metal.
I saw some old school juice presser made of wood.
I think a carpenter can make something like that one.
For now i am using hands and getting concentric
muscle building exercise.

Lol. Squeezing oranges by hand would definitely strengthen them.

So the bottles leach plastic, the metal juicer leaches metal... Something has to be less bad than others. It really doesn't seem practical to juice by hand, one needs quite a lot of oranges to make just 1 liter.

A plastic orange juicer isn't bad. I'm very sensitive to plastic, but I'm perfectly fine with plastic machine made orange juice. The contact lasts only seconds.

How much time do you take to juice everything yourself? Let's say I drink 1-3 liters of juice per day. Seems like a lot of oranges, time and money - everyday.

Seems like buying some concentrate powder is a good compromise - convenient yet no contact with a plastic bottle.

I have this one and love it, have had it for 5+ years without a problem. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001RL ... =rapefo-20

I have heard good things about this one.
