Greetings, I seem to always have orange callused hands where the fingers meet the palm. Can't really find a definitive cause of this. Any ideas? Positive/negative? I assume Vit A/Carotene related?

Thx!

Most likely too much carotene. Your body isn't able to process it all, so it starts storing it.

Have you been eating carrot salads?

Yes I eat a carrot salad every day. One med-large carrot. Do you think this is too much?

Maybe that is what it is from. Have you been rinsing it really well?

Nwo shreds a bunch, then puts in the fridge and he says even more of the orange goes away. So maybe you could try that to.

it seems odd that only one carrot would be overloading me with so much beta carotene. I used to have a way higher intake with \ tons of carrots, sweet potato, orange squash, greens, etc.. and didnt seem to have the calluses.

Thyroid function and good levels of B12 help converting carotene into vitamin A. Try out a safe B12 supplement for one or two days?

Exactly. Carotenemia is usually a marker for low thyroid function
