Just got some test results back
Will post all of them in a later thread or on this one if it helps with context
Wondering what optimal range is for prolactin? Mine came back at 15.0 ng/mL
Reference range on test: 4-15.2 ng/mL

You preferably want it around 7.
Now that you know your value, now you have to figure out what is causing it to be elevated.
It can be elevated by excess estrogen, low CO2 (low thyroid), elevated serotonin, low dopamine, inflammation, stress, gut issues, etc.

How did you determine that? What beneficial function does prolactin have?

You determine it with a blood test (is that what you're asking?).
Prolactin is like estrogen, it does have necessary functions, but it's usually elevated due to stress and then it's not good anymore.

Not what I was asking. I was asking why is 7 a “preferable” level.

I wanted to know if you had information on what beneficial function prolactin serves, besides molting in birds, and lactation in mammals.

Based on the research I’ve seen, it is only harmful for a man’s body.

Peat mentioned that below 7 is a good target.
I agree, according to my research it's not something to boost or have high at all. Even though it's touted to be a brain trophic factor and speeds up recovery after a workout, androgens can do that as well and are so much better at it too.
