Niacinimide As A Benzo

I have been given a benzo to help with my severe insomnia but I don't want to use it due to its side effects and addictive nature. I would like to try Niacinimide to replace the benzo (not for anxiety but for insomnia) but I think it might make matter worse since I have mild fatty liver. How much sugar would I need to take in order for Niacinimide to work for insomnia and not create hypoglycemia in the middle of the night? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Good question. I've been looking into trying niacinamide as a benzo substitute too (for anxiety), and it seems pretty high doses may be required to achieve that effect. @haidut will probably be able to give you good info here.

I would experiment.

Taurine and niacinamide together seem to be a double whammy. Don't need nearly as much niacinamide to achieve sedation in that case. 1g taurine and 590mg of niacinamide may do the job.

I've tried cyproheptadine, it helps my digestion but not my sleep unfortunately.

Would really have to be a big niacinamide dose to get benzo effects right? 2 g?
