Book: The Blog

cover2b.png

Yes—I have figured out why hair loss happens and how it can be restored! But you'll have to buy the book for this one. It has a ton of new stuff, better writing, new cures, new stories, and best of all, almost NO spelling errors!

• The Cure for Hair Loss
• Heal Varicose Veins and other Venous Insufficiency
• Eliminate some viral Infections like Herpes
• The Cure for Depression & Learned Hopelessness
• Regenerating Tissue through GABA
• Naturally Lean through Nutrition
• The Cure for Erectile Dysfunction
• The Cure for Insomnia
• More insight into Steroids/Sex Hormones/Endocrinological Function
• Lots of Gay Stuff
• And all the great content from this blog, updated.

Of particular note in this book are new insights into curing hair loss, regenerating varicose veins, spider veins, and varicocele and other tissues through GABA, fasting to remove some types of viral infections, curing learned hopelessness, insomnia, and depression, as well as better insights into aging, iron control, thyroid, sex hormones, and erectile dysfunction than what is currently on my blog, and of course stories of my life. *Please note that like the articles on my blog, these are not pharmacological interventions to disease but simpler ideas on healing which require certain adherents to diet and behavior which not all readers will be willing or able to employ.

The book can be purchased here or by clicking on the image to the left. I will make it available on bigger sites like Amazon once there is more demand. Since this is a pre-order the delivery is subject to everything going well with my printer and fulfillment. I will provide updates and anticipate it shipping mid-March.

Here is a list of the chapters (still subject to change) so you can preview the book. Thanks for all your support!

Did he tell you to post this because he doesn't post here anymore?

Thanks. I'll give it an honest review on Amazon.

This guy is good and helped me to get things going at the outset with ideas that don't always occur inside the box, relating to sleep, depression and other disorders. Something tells me this will be an interesting read.

I bought it. I think he has some good ideas. (Some bad ones too, but I like his good ones better)

I like his blog. He has interesting ideas that could be relevant for various health issues. He has turned around his own health dramatically.

Great, sounds like an interesting book! I love how Ray Peat has inspired a host of writers/commenters specialising in different areas, adding their own perspectives to his research. These include Danny Roddy, Haidut, Joey Lott and now Nathan Hatch.

I will certainly be purchasing the book. Perhaps I'm old-fashioned, but I prefer having a hard copy to refer to, instead of just an electronic one, so the physical-only option is fine by me.

It sounds like something written by Matt Stone.

Is that good or bad, lol? "F*** Portion Control" does on the surface sound like the kind of refeed and "don't diet" recommendations that Matt Stone makes. But beyond the title, Hatch on his blog seems to caution against certain foods, like pufa and nightshades. Stone is more fatalist, and wouldn't have much to say about (for example) hair loss. His last-reported diet of pizza and cookies does not sound much like Nate's recommendations.

He's a dynamic person I imagine. I haven't looked into his particulars.

Pizza and cookies made without iron-enriched flour (maybe potato or rice flour) and maybe coconut oil at least partially for the cookies could cover most nutrients: eggs are already in the cookies, a few carrots, some milk to drink with your meals, and some fruit to snack on and you're good to go.

Wish I could read the insomnia chapter right now. Really need it. Don't know what to do.
Have you tried the warm milk and honey before bed strategy? In an emergency, 250-500mg of Phenibut an hour or three before bed can help, assuming you can obtain it.

Is there a special reason the milk needs to be warm? One time I tried eating an orange with a bunch of salt, and another time, I tried eating a couple of tablespoons of sugar with salt, but it didn't help.

Yes, the salt and sugar thing is something recommended by Matt Stone among others, but I've found it to be hit-and-miss, personally. Regarding the warm milk, I would guess it is easier to digest, and avoids the stress reaction from cold fluid which the body needs to expend energy on to warm up. Warm liquids seem to dissolve honey/sugar more easily too.

But the milk perhaps doesn't necessarily have to be heated. Ice cream is often recommended in the Peat-o-sphere for insomnia, but I've noticed a few people have said it keeps them awake at night. So perhaps the heating of the milk (while recreating the sugar and fat-content of ice cream) would make it more psychologically and physiologically comforting.
