My "organic" sunless tanning lotion's active ingredient is naturally derived DHA. The company's website states that the DHA doesn't get into the bloodstream, just sits on the top layer of skin. Does this sound reasonable?
Anyone experience issues with topical DHA?

I am going to scream if I have/ought to stop using this stuff. I'm not sure I can handle looking like a pasty b*tch on top of life's other challenges.

I just looked into this finally, being a pasty b*tch myself. Unfortunately "just sitting on the skin" doesn't really cut it anymore. We know that fats get absorbed into the skin. We know DHA oxidises easily (in fact pretty sure that's what the smell/tan is - oxidising DHA stuck on keratin layer) so basically we are pouring oxidised pufa over our entire body. Feck. :(

This summer I will be trying to just use my homemade solban - homebrew organic coffee filtered +aspirin + niacinamide. Hopefully I will cope with being white if my skin tone is nicer!

Yes. Vanity is a sin :|
