Uncanny how this thread can go days with no replies, then suddenly there are a whole bunch at once...! A bit like buses.

Loving these, @GelatinGoblin , thank you very much for sharing, I especially enjoyed Яблоки на снегу. Am I right in thinking these are all from the 90s?

The earliest one is from like 85, the rest are late 80s early mid 90s.
Haha I too like Яблоки на снегу, Mikhail Muromov (Михаил Владимирович Муромов) was well liked and even now of course. But generally most of these songs are form the late 80s, mainly 1989, some onward, there were a lot of pop and rock around this time in the Soviet Union.
Here are some awe some songs...
the film this is from is free to watch on YouTube, with English subtitles in 480p here, no HD sadly. This is a classic and everybody has watched this at least 20 times in Russia, the sequel Brat 2 was more dynamic and is well liked as well, I personally very much liked both. This film is also very good and is available in HD with English subtitles, same director I think, not sure, same film company "CTB"; all of these films are realistic like and awesome. If you have time and spirit, search "Come and See" on YouTube, this film is very unique, from 1984 I think, very good quality and English subtitles form YouTube available. Difficult to watch though, watch when ready and if have some time.
A few of these songs appeared in the Brat 1 and 2 soundtrack

Смысловые Галлюцинации - Вечно Молодой (Брат 2) <<This one I really like with the clip from the movie here https://youtu.be/--0gWFJcqwU I'm sorry, but where else would you find a Maxim machine gun in a modern crime flick? So these guys went to a neo-nazi which had some WW2 guns, they took the MP40 and some stick nades and decided to take the Maxim just in case, in the scene before a cop pulled them over over some minor thing, they act well everything with a smile and everything went well considering the 27 kilogramme Maxim machine gun covered by some blanket

https://youtu.be/vM2O-weQuEA. This song reminds me my running days, running some 20 km with these song on my phone playing, also Enter Sandman, haha good times... In the Summer, bare chested... Overexercise though :( it is a beautiful song
https://youtu.be/Ukr23957aus very beautiful song aswell, Viktor Tsoi / Kino was a legand. True true shame in his early passing.
https://youtu.be/7Cf9BuOegJQ beautiful song
https://youtu.be/xtxjm7ciwmc Oh my God, this song aswell from my running days... Perfect summer song. The whole album is kind of summer based :) after it is named Звезда По Имени Солнце / Zvezda Po Imeni Solntse / A Star Called the Sun . Winter has been missed though, as time progresses I begin to love all seasons, you can't hasten them anyway, this is just a little something don't mind... Speaking of A Star Called The Sun and Summer:

I wish all of these had universal lyrics
This Polish rock band called "Kult" is awesome, it is near the end, but they are awe some

I realized today that almost none of the music I like is by American or British artists. I tend towards music that is <10 years old, generally dance or hip hop - and from other parts of Europe! Idk why that is what sounds good to me, haha.

I love music from all over the world, but I strongly gravitate to stuff around the 70s. I think the production values were just incredibly high then, the craftsmanship in some of those records is absolutely phenomenal. Things definitely take a turn in the 80s, not necessarily for the worse, it's just that everything changes pretty drastically when digital equipment becomes more available.

Would love to hear some of the stuff you're into! The last 10 years is a bit of a blind spot for me, and I have all the time in the world for hip hop.

Interesting, I haven't listened to much from 70's but I can imagine that the quality was better :/ And, definitely!

Oh, it's not that it's better/worse, it's just very different then! The processes producers and engineers would go through (not to mention the actual sounds available to them) to make a record evolved a lot when the 80s came along. I'm not a snob about it, some of my favourite records, especially in hip hop, are from the 80s, 90s, and 00s.

I really enjoy some vibey house music since improving my metabolism.
Just brings me in the right mood with some fresh-pressed OJ and strong coffee.
Just listen to that beat at 0:30
