Getting enough A,D,K and selsun blue shampoo seems to be doing the trick.
My shedding has decreased a lot since I started eating carrots, getting sunlight and supplementing d3 everyday. I'm still on the fence about using Selsun blue. I've read both good and bad things. Can your scalp become dependent on selsun blue?

Best used sparingly I'd imagine.
I try not to shower every day. I work in a kitchen so I sweat a lot, so that doesn't always happen.
I rotate between selsun and an organic oil shampoo.

I've been using Nizoral every other day, and the organic apple cider vinegar/coconut oil shampoo bar on Etsy. They both help my scalp relax throughout the day, but by night it becomes pink and sensitive again. When I sweat, my scalp becomes itchy as hell. What's the organic oil shampoo that you use?

I was using nizoral but it is anti-androgenic and irritated my scalp too much, so I switched to selsun. I never itch anymore and rarely flake at all.

Would you guys explain to me why you would want to put chemicals on your head that are known endocrine disruptors and neurotoxins, especially since the reason your having issues with your scalp/skin is because of an endocrine and digestive imbalance?

Boron is a much safer natural alternative, i have been putting a cup of Borax in my hot tub every week for many years, my whole family has great skin and hair.

Here is a list of the health concerns for each of the many questionable ingredients in Selsun Blue.

Borax is also great natural way to clean and help keep fungus levels down in your clothes and bedding. Especially since most brands of laundry soaps and the synthetic fragrances in them are major endocrine disruptors and a common cause of dermatitis.

I only use it for anti-dandruff perks, but yes it could be a viscous cycle where it is exacerbating the cause of the dandruff while hiding the symptoms.

I share in @Daniel11 's feeling about putting harsh chemicals on your scalp. I quit shampoo almost 6 months ago and don't plan on ever using it again, hopefully. I do however co-wash if my hair is feeling dry--which means skipping the shampoo and just using conditioner (I use this brand Griffin Remedy | Natural Personal Care Products ) I've begun to add magnesium oil the conditioner I use. Sometimes I'll just spray and rinse the mag oil directly on my head, massage it in. Seems logical considering magnesium breaks up excess calcium. I have to say my shedding is nearly none these days. I used to pull out fairly large wads of hair (for me anyway) and now I only shed a few strands in the shower. The re-growth on the other hand...eh still working on that. But I am counting my blessings.

I've reached the point where nizoral is starting to irritate my scalp. I'm gonna stop using it and see if it subsides.

I've pretty much accepted the fact that I'll be bald by 30 anyways. Nothing really seems to be helping my hair. What a sick joke.

I agree, I think selsun isn't the best to use long term, but for someone who wants to stop their shedding or cut it down very quick it seems to work pretty well. It gave me mild allergenic symptoms when I was using it, which I have mentioned before in this thread. That is why I mentioned using pure liquid selenium on the scalp instead. It depends on how far you want to go to stop something.

@lampofred why would high dose oral caffeine stop your hair loss but higher doses of T3 seems to do the opposite (I e. Increase sledding)? Caffeine and T3 act somewhat similar in the body so I wonder what is the difference in terms of hair

I'm guessing rosemary/peppermint oil on the scalp is no good, since they're both anti-androgenic?

A bit confused by the contradicting views on DHT and its effect on hair growth/loss.

Do we have a fairly conclusive opinion on this? @TubZy @haidut

Has anyone here tried pure baking soda for seborrheic dermatitis? I keep reading stories on various forums/websites about people completely curing their seb derm with it. It supposedly works even better if you use coconut oil after washing it out. I have the day off tomorrow, so I'm going to take a trip to the store and pick some up and give it a shot.

So from what I've been reading, once Malassezia has spread throughout the skin, it uses sebum to create oleic acid? The oleic acid then makes our skin erratically grow which results in dandruff? The overgrowth continues to feed the yeast and thus the vicious cycle continues. I still need to research more into it. Perhaps the sodium bicarbonate has an effect on the oleic acid, then the coconut oil finishes the job.

I'd say 'reasonably' conclusive...anecdotally for me, exogenous dht (assuming 11keto dht does what it claims to) doesn't cause any hair loss, but exogenous testosterone definitely does. Could be the conversion to estrogen or other issues it causes that I'm unaware of.

I do believe the correct balance of hormones will completely stop hairloss and perhaps allow regrowth, though that may take some topical/external stimulus...I'm not sure yet.

So you haven't experienced any hair loss from DHT steroids?...that is pretty major if u ask me, assuming u suffer from some balding...I always had a hunch that dht actually keeps u young and doesn't hurt hair. and it was estrogen/prolactin/cortisol causing mpb. but I was never sure or confident enough to take dht steroids and test it out myself...but if DHT didn't hurt your head hair then I would say that this mpb - DHT myth is definitely a hoax!

Sodium Bicarbonate ( Baking Soda) has anti-fungal properties along with offering many other health benefits. It can be used on your hair or for brushing your teeth and the best use is internally.

I start every morning with a alkalizing relaxing elixir of baking soda and organic apple cider vinegar.

First mix just 1/8 teaspoon baking soda with 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar, wait for it to completely stop fizzing then add 1 cup of good water and drink. Best to do this first think in the morning soon after you wake up.

This is great way to start your day and it offers many health benefits, its one of the best natural remedies i know of for helping digestion, immune system, allergies, skin, mood, and more.

I like Bragg’s brand organic Apple Cider Vinegar and Bobs Red Mill or Arm & Hammer baking soda, lots of people report feeling better soon after starting this. Think about benefits of carbon dioxide…

"Bicarbonate is the wonderful medicine it is because it turns into carbon dioxide in the stomach, which drives bicarbonates into the blood."

Definitely. It is the strongest no-fap protocol I have come across. I have no desire to masturbate/look at porn at all (haven't in weeks), and more girls are into me than ever before. It's not even just sexual, even older adults/children/guys like me more, and I'm much more kind to everyone in general.

Not sure, but I stopped taking thyroid a long, long time ago. It was too much for my nutritional reserves due to my poor quality diet until then. Maybe the thyroid was causing too much stress, and the caffeine is a more moderate amount of stimulation

Lowering prolactin/estrogen/serotonin has been my goal for stopping shedding and regrowth.
@brix
Is Lisuride still a major factor in your opinion? Wondering whether it's worth an order, doing ok without it.

Yes. Every other day seems just as effective. 3 drops on wrists in the am.

Yes, it does. Also haidut mentioned they should contain SFA now, you are using the dmso one right?

"In women the major cause of hair loss before the age of 50 is nutritional, with 30% affected. Increased and persistent hair shedding (chronic telogen effluvium) and reduced hair volume are the principle changes occurring. The main cause appears to be depleted iron stores, compromised by a suboptimal intake of the essential amino acid l-lysine. Correction of these imbalances stops the excessive hair loss and returns the hair back to its former glory. However, it can take many months to redress the situation."
