if your still searching, I had my mom try serrapeptase for the last few months and she tells me its working. She is also taking https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0016J0NP6 which has horse chestnut and a few other herbs good for varicose veins.
I have read somewhere that the surgery can be dangerous so definitely try the herbal/suppl route.
