Modified Citrus Pectin For Cancer

  1. It inhibits galectin-3, an enzyme that almost all cancers use for growth and metastasis.

It boosts the immune system including anti-cancer killer cells in a dose dependent matter in vitro, and it is shown to reduce PSA in prostate cancer patients and prevent prostate cancer growth. It can also induce apoptosis. It has underwent multiple big clinical trials as a therapy for cancer. The product can be bought as a supplement online, there's a company led by a doctor that originally developed it. Other supplement brands also sell it. The original product was used in the big studies. New studies are still on-going and cancer patients use the product.

  2. My apology, galectin-3 is a protein, not an enzyme. It is active in all cancers.

Modified citrus pectin is a polyuronide and can chelate heavy metals through the egg box effect. It doesn't touch healthy minerals.

Toxic Metal Binding Mechanism Pectins and alginates are classified as polyuronides which form stacks in solution in what is known as an “egg box” structure. Each pocket of the “egg carton” contains a positively charged ion to balance the negatively charged chains. Normally the positive ions are sodium and potassium.5 Toxic metals, especially lead, mercury, cadmium, arsenic, and radioactive compounds have a higher binding affinity for polyuronides than the essential ions like calcium, magnesium, and zinc. Toxic metal ions become trapped in the “egg box” structure and are eliminated from the body. USDAARS scientist attributed 10% rhamnogalacturonan II content found in the MCP to the selective binding to toxic metals.2
