Minocycline Lowers My Caffeine Tolerance

I started 100x2 per day Indian minocycline made by Ranbaxy a couple of days ago. I found out it greatly enchants caffeine stimulation. I take 6x180 mg caffeine tabs. I have to lower dose to 4 tabs. I haven't had this with doxy. Be careful.

Do you think it could it be an endotoxin insult brought on by the antibiotics? I'd imagine while dealing with an increased endotoxin load, the caffeine would then have less resources to metabolize efficiently thus lowering your tolerance.

Just spitballing here.

I believe mino is metabolised mostly by liver in contrast with doxy that gets is excreted by kidneys unchanged

Im not sure about mino, but doxy definitely gets metabolised by liver via cytochrome p450 so mino probably does as well. Long term high dose doxy can be a strain on the liver.

Caffeine also requires p450 enzymes, so this could explain your reaction

I think there is a possibility that the dosage is unnecessarily high. I would take 50mg per day and than stick with it if it helps . Maybe increase to 100mg per day for some time but not more.
Do you think you're getting more benefits from 200mg than 100mg ?
