Thanks narouz.

Well, I am drinking a quart of OJ a day, along with about 4 cups of coffee. I hope that is covering my magnesium.

BTW, how do you tell if your teeth are stronger?

Well...you'd think that would cover it, wouldn't ya?

Yeah--how indeed?
The criteria are not supplied.

But magnesium is a major player in PeatWorld.
And you say you have a hard time unwinding before sleep.
I could picture you lying in a hot tub of epsom salts at bedtime.
Some people say it is very relaxing.
Peat recommends it.
(And it might make your teeth strong,
in contrast to those horrible soft squishy teeth.
Hate that!)

Charlie, did you have leg cramps? Acid stomach after eating bone-broth? I get Charlie horses and acid stomach at times. Do you think it could be calcium/magnesium imbalance?

No leg cramps. Just really bad heartburn after I eat broth. I have no clue as to why that happens. I am getting ready to make another batch tomorrow and see how it goes.

Nope, this is day 10. I have 3 more days worth and am considering finishing those 3 days. Still haven't completely decided yet.

I guess it wouldn't hurt.
Personally, I'm thinking of doing some antibiotics,
but I was only going to do them for one day.
Just to give you a perspective. :)
I certainly wouldn't do more than 7 days.
Not that there's anything wrong with that....

Yeh, I am still debating on whether to go on or not. 10 days seems like a good number, 1 day, how in the world is that gonna work? 7 days, that seems OK. Online it says 4-15 days for bacterial infections for minocylcine dosage.

I mean...I figure you eat ONE carrot salad per day.
Or ya do ONE round of charcoal per day.

What do you think is stronger: carrot/charcoal
or 3 pills of Minocycline?

I dunno, maybe antibiotic resistance from one day. I could be wrong though.

Ahem Mr. one day antibiotic dude:

The improper use and abuse of antibiotics has led to the development of antibiotic resistance. The most common misuse and abuse of antibiotics are:

Physicians prescribing antibiotics for viral infections
Not finishing the full dosage of the antibiotic. When an antibiotic prescription is not finished (even leaving one or two pills), it leaves some bacteria alive and "resistant" to future antibiotic treatment.

And here is another good read:

Re: Minocycline Antibiotic Log

When I heard Danny Roddy report that Peat took a little penicillin every day,
I had to revise how I thought about antibiotic use.
It seemed like Peat was using the antibiotic
as he would a carrot salad--
a once a day kind of thing
versus a typical "course" of several days or weeks.

And the danger of "antibiotic resistance" definitely came to mind.
But isn't the phenomenon a multi-species wide animal thing?
A bacteria becomes resistant not just because one human (or animal)
uses antibiotics incorrectly...right?
Rather, isn't it because millions of humans
use antibiotics (maybe correctly or incorrectly)...?

@Narouz,

This is what he told me when I asked him if he took Penicillin everday:

"No, I just do it occasionally."

Thanks, DR.
Yes, that's the general picture I had in mind from your report,
as against the idea of a long "course."
Sorry if I mis-paraphrased and gave the wrong impression about the frequency.

Charlie:

Before Peating, I had been on an extremely low-calcium diet for years. When I started Peating, I noticed several changes in my teeth. First, I no longer experienced pain in my teeth if I drank a cold beverage or bit something hard. Second, my teeth stopped chipping. Third, some surfaces of my teeth that had been a bit rough became smooth. Fourth, my teeth just felt harder and more solid. :D

Thank you for recording your minocycline adventures. I hope you are feeling better.

Re: Minocycline Antibiotic Log

Thanks for that report Ray-Z! Guess I need to pay a little more attention to my teeth to see if there have been improvements.

This might be my last day of antibiotics. Still no relief of constipation. :( And still red around the base of my teeth. Ugggh.

Charlie-
Don't become discouraged if you don't see immediate improvements.
Indeed, do not become discouraged if you experience immediate discomfort.

You're doing a trial and error type of experiment,
trying to check off typical Peat areas of concern.
The bugs in the gut thing is one major one of those, IMO.
Great to check that off even if it proves not to be the culprit or a culprit.

Also, imagining that your intestines were overgrown with bacteria,
and that they had sunk their vampiric fangs into your gut lining,
leading to all manner of endotoxic havoc and stress hormones and leaky gut, etc...

...well, that sort of mayhem might take a while to come back to a healthy state.
Just killin' off the bad guys might just be the start of a process.
What if their lousy, dead, decomposing bodies are layin' all over the place
exuding toxic fumes and take a while to excrete?
What if the holes they fanged into your intestinal wall need a little time to heal?
Etc.
Give it some time. ;)

Re: Minocycline Antibiotic Log

You know, too, Charlie:
You might follow your antibiotics course
with a big blast or two or three of charcoal.
I'm talkin' the peatarian mega-charcoal blast,
like 2 or 3 TABLEspoons dissolved in water once a day well between eatings.

She may've said or intimated that here...?

If those lousy putrid decomposing dead bacteria
are layin' around down there
by the millions with their abominable fangs hanging out...
...nothin' between to suck them out with than charcoal!
(Lest I convey a whiff off Authoritarian type knowledge there,
let me confess my knowledge and use of charcoal are definitely nascent;
peatarian is The Source for all things charcoal.)
