Did anyone of you heard of the „Mastering Diabetes“ program?

It seems pretty aligned with the idea of the glucose / fatty acids substrate competition. (Randle effect)

I am following a similar diet even though I additionally eat quite a lot of very lean animal meat (like chicken breast) for reaching a higher protein intake - for body composition and hypertrophy.

Here are some good videos to get the idea:

I bought their book and read it after watching one of the videos. It sounds very good for some people except for the reliance on plant protein and all the yellow/green vegetables that are high in beta carotene. It requires access to lots of fruits and vegetables and is basically a vegan diet.

Yes. I only select low-vitamin A vegetables and fruit sources. Whole grains, beans and legumes are naturally very low in vitamin A.

I disagree with the vegan component of it. Very low fat animal product should not have negative effects on insulin sensitivity in my opinion. I think a low protein vegan diet leads to frailty and loss of muscle mass in the long-term.

Animals products also supply unique nutrients like B vitamins, choline, essential amino acids…

Do you mind summarizing the main principles of this approach in terms of diet, lifestyle and supplements?

They don‘t promote any specific supplement except B12 I think as their plan is plant-based.

Dietary fat intake should be ~10% for maximizing insulin sensitivity according to their point of view.
