And I was wondering what happended to the forum.
I thought the Paleo folks decided to hack the server.

What happened today could foster for the need for a more productive Ray Peat community.

Today I actually had to do some work at work, S_S went to the bar next doors, got drunk watching old el clasico games, Amazoniac visited the amazon for the first time, Westide PUFAs stayed home all day staring at a cached version of the forum’s index page until he fell asleep and Stuart was about to leave us for a more complaisant online cult.

I hereby request the Senior Executive Directors of the Ray Peat forum to adopt a one day-off policy.
Every week, one day off for every member, so I can take my day off when Stuart and Wetside PUFAs are actively discussing the “sexual orientation and the prevalence of disease in the paleolithic era” topic.

I call dibs on Monday. So I can go for prayers when there’s a lot less suicide bombers near worship places.

I am contracting a server technician from the Xenforo community to do about 3-4 hours(estimate) worth of work on the server. He will be working on the efficiency of the server, which means we will use a lot less cpu to do the same amount of work, and then we can handle traffic much better. He will also speed things up and will make sure the server is completely locked down and secure. His cost per hour is $28. I have one hour possibly paid for already, if you are able to help please contact me. When he is done, I also hope to put him on monthly contract, its about $20 a month for one hours work, so that he can keep a watch on things and adjust as needed.

Being able to get this work done will be a huge improvement to our serving situation, allowing us to handle bigger amounts of traffic, with minimal resources, along with serving out the forum as fast as possible. Basically putting us in the best situation possible.

Why the server move today? I woke up yesterday morning with an email from hosting saying that they are shutting down the servers we are on, and upgrading to better servers. This was totally unexpected, but we made the most of the situation and completely rebuilt our new server(software) from the ground up. I am extremely happy with the results.
