Magnesium hydroxide or glycinate?

I'm very likely mildly deficient in magnesium.

I have several bottles of milk of magnesia so it'd be much more convenient to supplement the hydroxide version.

Are there any drawbacks to compared to the glycinate form?

Mag glycinate appears to be better absorbed and generally has less laxative effects. The draw back is probably that the production steps can introduce more contamination.
