Aspartate is an excitotory neurotransmitter, and some people get rapid heart beat when acclimating to large magnesium doses. These 2 reasons, but you said you tried it in a ZMA product. Maybe the dosage is different.

Wait, 2,500 mg as elemental magnesium ? Or including the aspartate ?

The Capsules are 500mgs each it doesn't say how much aspartate is in it

I see, well there you have it ! It’s either a lot of aspartate or a lot of magnesium by weight.

Switch up your forms, I use 4 different versions - chloride/acetate/citrate/malate.

You could also use the Glycinate.
